Something New!

Violet sat on her bed playing Alex while Yuki was fumbling around with an old necklace she had found. Violet put Alex down, she was getting bored so she asked Yuki for ideas and that was a bad idea. Yuki automatically suggested they go to the new mall that had been built, Violet tried to tell her that she'd changed her mind but Yuki didn't listen. Instead, she grabbed Violet by they arm and practically dragged her to Tord's office. Yuki knocked on the door quickly before opening it up and letting herself in. "Tord, Violet and I are going to the new mall. Wanna come along with us?"
"I'm sorry Yuki. I can't today but let me get Tom, he'll want to go with you."

"Okay Tord, tell him to meet us at the gate."

"Ok Yuki. Have fun girls!"

Violet opened her mouth as if she was going to say something but Yuki dragged her away before she could say a word. Yuki then invited Storm, Rachel and Tristan to join them, at this point Violet gave up resisting and followed obediently until she ran off to invite Dylan. She had to invite him, everyone else was still so suspicious of him so maybe if Violet invited him along to a few things they would get to know him and like him a little more. Dylan was hesitant when Violet invited him until she said that she wouldn't go unless he did, only then did he change his mind.

Yuki was stunned when Violet had come back because she was sitting on Dylan's shoulders and laughing. It was surprising, she was laughing like she did before Jacob, before the bullies, before any of the bad things that happened. She was laughing and it was all down to this new boy that she had met, Yuki knew Tristan wouldn't be happy with that. As her eyes met his she could see that she was right, he was fuming. She could almost imagine him as a cartoon character with steam blowing out of his ears and that was a funny thought indeed.

When they had got to the mall Yuki instantly took Violet away to a hair salon, Violet protested a little but ended up just following her anyway shaking her head, the rest of them went into different clothes stores. Yuki had told the hairdresser that Violet was going dye her hair. Violet didn't want to do that, she liked her hair but then Violet had an idea and told them Yuki was having hers cut. Yuki gaped at Violet while she laughed tears forming at the corners of her eyes. When the hairdresser asked Violet what colour she wanted to dye it she replied with "Black, please. Oh, and could it be dip-dyed. Thanks."

"Black?" Yuki questioned

"Yes, black. What's wrong with black?"

"Nothing, I just thought you would picked something else, that's all. I'm gonna have pink through mine."

At that moment Tristan walked and asked to have his hair dyed, when he was asked what colour he told them red. Violet thought Tristan would suit red hair, she didn't see the obvious reason as to why he was doing it, unlike Yuki. She shot him a look that could freeze you in place and which he recoiled a little.

When it was over Yuki, Violet and Tristan met up with the others. Dylan had just walked out of a dress shop and handed Violet a small purple box. Violet looked up at him slowly and opened the box, inside was a baby blue dress with a necklace and a small bracelet on top of it. Violet was stunned, she carefully closed the lid and tried to hand it back "I-I can't take this."

"Do you not like it?" Dylan asked sadly

"No, I do like it but it's too much Dylan."

Dylan laughed at that comment "No it's not, seriously, just take it Pup. Like the hair, by the way."

Violet blushed and smiled warmly "Well, thanks Blue."

A while later after they had finished shopping Violet and Yuki were trying to fit all the new clothes into their wardrobe. Yuki had practically bought everything she thought looked nice but she probably won't wear half of it, Violet had done her fair-share of shopping too but she only bought things she knew that she would wear. Except for two dresses that is, she was keeping for special occasions but she wasn't too sure if she'd actually wear them. Yuki insisted she'd buy at least one dress and so Violet did, at the time it seemed like a good idea but Violet didn't know if she wanted to switch things up or not. She was so used to wearing jeans that wearing anything else seemed ridiculous to her, during the summer months she occasionally wore shorts but that is the biggest change that she had made for a while. "You've bought too much Yuki."

"No, I haven't. See it's all in now."

"But..."

"But what? It's in and it's fine.
"What you should be worrying about is Tord seeing your hair." Yuki teased.

"OMG! I forgot about that, Tord is gonna kill us!"

Yuki laughed at Violet "Yours is worse! It's jet black."

"Do you know what? Fuck it, fuck it all! If I wanna have half black hair then I am gonna have half black hair."

"You didn't want it to start with."

"Well, I like it. It's cool, besides Dylan likes it."

"Ooh"

"It's not like that!"

"It sounds like it to me. You like him, don't you?"

Violet slapped her hand over Yuki's mouth to keep her quiet "Keep your voice down! Someone may hear you."

Violet lifted her hand slowly and Yuki whispered "So, do you like him?"

"Well, yeah. I guess, I can't really explain it but it feels like he's the one, y'know, the person I'm meant to be with. Like Tom and Tord, Mom and Dad."

"That is really romantic! It's like the red string stories they used to talk about, they were always the sweetest stories I ever listened to."

"You mean the ones they told me after you-know-who?"

"Yeah, I kinda listened to them too. You still really hate saying his name, huh?"

"I mean... I don't wanna hate it but I do. It fills me with memories every time and normally it's the bad ones but for some reason when it's the good ones it... hurts. It actually hurts, Yuki! And I don't think that's normal but then again I don't actually know because he is the only boyfriend I have ever had."

Yuki hugged her little sister and said "You're okay though. You've got me, and Tord, and Tom, and all the others. Hey, you even have Dylan now. So please don't be upset."

Violet returned the hug. "Thanks, Yuki, you always know what to say. Now let's go find Tord and get this over with."

Yuki laughed before getting up on her feet and reaching out to help Violet. "Sure, Violet."

It was no surprise when Tord lost it and Yuki was right he was angrier at Violet's hair than he was at hers. Tord was that angry that he told Violet she wouldn't be allowed to go on missions for a month, which was basically like grounding her. Violet whined a bit but she was fine, she knew that he probably didn't mean it. They soon departed for the night and left for their rooms, Yuki and Violet continued to talk about Dylan until they fell asleep.
