He couldn't believe his plan didn't work. Matt had so carefully thought it out too, oh well back to the drawing board. He had to make sure he didn't fail again, his cunning plan of making himself seem as smart as a kitchen shelf really helped him. He was never suspected of doing the things Tord could do but as a matter of fact, he could be worse than Tord if he really wanted. Tord left them, he attacked them, he destroyed everything they owned and For what! Absolutely nothing, that's what. When he seen that girl on the battlefield, he knew that they had to get her on their side or they were doomed. She was Tord's right hand man - well girl- first of all, second she was an ace sniper and finally she managed to get Edd to act like his old self again. If she stayed here with them she could help Edd, he won't revert back to his controlling ways if she is with him. The irony behind this though was Matt's problem was that Edd was going to send her back! Matt could not let that happen.

Violet was sitting in the Rebellion courtyard with Edd. He was actually quite a nice person, but why was he so against Tord. Well, as it turned out, Edd was actually angry at Tord because he thought Tom was killed by him. When Violet heard this she burst out into laughter, he gave her a look and said 'It's not funny, Violet!'
She shook her head and replied breathlessly 'Tom's not dead, Edd. He is with Tord!'
Edd looked stunned, maybe that was a lot to unload on him at once but she couldn't have Edd hating Tord forever.
'You m- mean Tom's a-a-alive!'
'I did just say that, didn't I?' Violet asked honestly confused. She couldn't remember if she had said that or not.
'Yeah, you did. I-it's just surprising, that's all.'
'Oh.' Was all that Violet could respond with.

'Violet, are you ok?' Edd asked with genuine concern.
'Of course I am, what makes you ask that?'
'You're crying.'
'Am I?' Violet didn't even realise she was crying until she wiped her face. 'Oh , so I am!'
'You still haven't answered my question.'
'Oh, I'm fine. Really, I'm just a little homesick, I miss my family.'
'Your family?' Edd didn't understand her took her from the Army, did she have family members there as well?
'Oh! The Red Army was like my family, I have never really had a family until I joined Tord. He took me in, protected me, he treated me like a was another sister, Yuki also treated me like a sister. The Army made me feel welcome, when no one else did, it has always felt like home to me.' Violet explained answering Edd's unspoken questions.
'I promise to get you back, Violet!' Edd said.
'Really?' Violet couldn't believe her ears. She was going to go back home. Edd smiled and that was all the answer she needed.

Matt had to work quickly or he was going to lose her, for a while at least. She couldn't go back, he knew Edd would chicken out at some point but he didn't know when exactly. He had to finish it before then, Edd may hate him for it but he was going to take the chance. A girl like her "Violet" only came once in a lifetime, if she ever came at all. It was lucky for them Edd had discovered her and learned some things about her, Matt was the reason the could get to her in the first place. He was quite the master of disguise, if he did say so himself. He actually managed to sneak into the Red Army canteen and give Violet spiked food, which made her ill, giving them the chance to go and grab her. He was not letting all his hard work be for nothing! He finished his serum and let out a maniacal laugh, he was going to make her into their obedient servant and there was nothing anybody could do about it!
