When I Look At You

The sound of her nephews giggling and running around, her older nephew holding onto a piece of bread and her younger nephew holding onto a folded paper and chasing each other around the house while the adults were relaxing in the living room, chatting and gazing at the kids was pure bliss for Go Eun.

These were the moments she lived for, these were the moments she cherished and moments that kept her going when she felt exhausted or down. A very mundane and peaceful day with her parents, her brother, sister-in-law, and her nephews. During the weekends, her brother’s family and Go Eun would sleepover at their parent’s house.

Despite living separately they were very close and always visited each other. Go Eun missed a few weeks of her nephew’s lives due to shooting and the guilt overwhelmed her. She felt like a terrible aunt when despite her absence, her nephews never held it against her. It’s probably due to their young age but still, she made sure she was always present in their lives and she tried to spoil them rotten whenever she could.

“He’s love. An angel.” She would always announce during interviews whenever she was asked about her nephews.

She loved babysitting them, they were well-behaved kids even at their age so she rarely had much trouble babysitting them. She would bring them to parks, kid’s cafes, and such. She would spoil them whenever she got a chance. Go Eun did get reprimanded by her brother and sister-in-law but both Go Eun’s parents and she continued to pamper the kids.

At her parent's house, her sister-in-law (SIL) and brother got to rest while the grandparents and Go Eun took care of the kids. She had been so busy with her photoshoots and attending to some matters before the actual promotional period for her new movie, HERO is released, this was one of those weekends she got to just relax and be with her family.

She has not seen nor been with her boyfriend for a week, her mother and sister-in-law kept encouraging her to meet him today since it was Sunday, and both he and Go Eun did not have anything on but she wanted to spend time with her family and he respected it.

But her mother and SIL understood how much she missed him so they kept encouraging her and she finally agreed, texting him and getting his response immediately that he’s driving over.

She could not hide her smile and her mother noticed, smacking her, “he must be on his way.” she giggled going to the kitchen to get some drinks for herself.

“Please have fun and come home a little late, don’t worry about us. You can always come over to our place and see these little rascals and we always come over anyway. They miss you and their grandparents too much.” her SIL said.

She was blessed to have such an amazing SIL who became a friend and a sister to her, she would go to her if she wanted something or was doubtful about anything and she always helped no matter how busy she was.

Go Eun ran up to her room, she was wearing a full sleeves red tee and striped trousers, she put on some facial cream and let down her hair, combing it before putting on a mask and a Yankees hat. Grabbing her wallet and phone and stuffing it into her pocket.

She enjoyed a few more moments with her family before the doorbell rang. Her nephews squealed in excitement thinking someone ordered chicken as they ran to the door and started jumping and yelling chicken.

She opened the door and there he was, wearing a white pullover and black pants with the hat she gifted him and he was carrying two huge life-sized minomis and a bag from a famous and well-liked bakery shop. Her nephews were more excited to see the minomis as they started pointing at it and running to their mother to show her. Min Ho entered the house, greeting everyone before setting down the dolls and cake he bought for them.
