What's Up? My name's Pika. I'm an average Pikachu. Popular Pokémon, lighting bolt shaped tail, all of that. Being a Pikachu is sometimes not all it's cracked up to be, as the larger Pokémon in the area like to prey on us. I cautiously walked through the forests outside of my home, looking around in brief intervals. Things seemed perfect. The ground was illuminated by the sunlight escaping from the overhang of the forest, there were berries all around, and I was feeling pretty cheerful that day.
I stopped I my tracks as soon as I heard my stomach rumble. I let out a sigh of exasperation before looking around. I hadn't eaten for a few hours, so I was expecting something like this to happen. My eyes quickly drifted up to a tree, where a few Oran berries hung, the light of the sun giving it a soft glow.
I used Iron Tail on the tree, making a few berries fall. I caught two with a small smile of accomplishment before rubbing it against my fur, a habit that I'd had since I was little. I took a quick bite out of it, sighing in pleasure.
A few minutes later, I gulped down the Oran berries quickly as I laid down on a tree branch. I looked out at the plains of Kanto with a bit of uncertainty. I could see the blades of grass below sway side to side as a wind blew along.
"Mom. Dad." I sighed, looking up to the sky. "I'll find you, I promise." I jumped off of the tree branch and began running towards the forest grotto, my home, to grab a map. I had finally managed to scrape together enough money to grab the supplies necessary for traveling.
*Beginning of Flashback*
As I was running towards the grotto, memories of my parents surfaced. Ten years ago, I was with my parents, walking home from a nearby ice cream place. The forest grotto was all I knew, and I was fine with that. Back then, I was only a three year old Pichu, fresh out an egg and ready to take on the world. I looked over to a fountain, which had been made with a gray, smooth stone.
"M-mam-my. Up." I held out my paws towards my mom, who was a Pikachu at the time.
"Okay Pichu." Mom smiled. She picked me up with a loving smile before I slowly fell asleep, thinking of how much I loved my parents.
---
I woke up in my small bed, hearing my parent's voices.
"Mammy. Daddy." I mumbled to myself before walking out of my room. I peered around the corner and saw my mom, who was writing something down. My dad approached her from the other side of the kitchen.
"Why did he have to find us..." Mom whimpered, hugging my father. "How did he find us...?"
"I don't know..." Dad replied with a crestfallen face. "I can't believe I have to say this, but we have to go. We have to leave far from here... And we have to leave Pichu behind..."
"There's no other way... Is there?" Mom asked, looking up to Dad.
"We can't put his life as risk." Dad replied, putting on the most serious face he could muster. "He's just like you. If we decide to bring him along, he'll be in danger."
"If only I wasn't created..." Mom sighed shakily. "I put you in danger, too."
"It's fine, Nika." Dad shook his head. "Either way, there's no way to change this. We have to go."
My cheeks began to spark electricity, alerting Mom and Dad's attention. The two turned towards me, Mom's eyes filled with tears, and Dad looked away. Mom solemnly walked up to me before placing a paw on my forehead.
"I'm so sorry, Pichu..." Mom spoke sadly before closing her eyes. The last thing I saw was blue. The blue glow seemed to go into my head as I let out a groan.
