Around noon the next day my Mark started to burn. I was in Herbology when the pain shot through my forearm. As a response, I accidentally dropped the trowel that I had been using to scoop up the soft soil that Professor Sprout had told us to plant some kind of seed in. Vincent looked over from his pot.

"Are you okay?"

"Yeah." I shook my head, despite my answer. He shot me a questioning look. As a hint, I guested to my left arm. His eyes widened in understanding. "Yeah." I said again, picking up the small shovel.

I let my eyes wonder across the green house to see Draco speaking to Sprout. His face looked pained and he was holding his stomach. I let out a small cackle; He couldn't handle the burning, but he was playing it off as a stomach ache. Some man he was. Sprout nodded her head yes, and he started to walk towards the door. On the way out, he looked at me. While our Professor's back was turned, he made a motion for me to follow him. I shook my head no, but he kept insisting, so I turned to Vincent.

"Vince, I'll be back. Maybe."

"Yeah, I see." I pointed to Draco. I handed him my trowel and headed towards Professor Sprout. Draco signaled that he would wait on me and exited the green house.

"Professor, I think I'm getting sick..." I lied, putting a hand to my stomach like Draco had. She squinted her eyes at me.

"Draco was sick, too. Are you sure?" She was catching on to me. I would have to think of something, quick.

"Yeah. My uncle said there was something going around..."

"Well...Okay." She answered, defeated. "But go straight to the Hospital Wing to see Madam Pomfrey, okay?"

"Thank you, Professor." I turned on my heel and went out the door. Draco was waiting for me, as promised. "What do you want?" I put a hand on my hip, but quickly removed it when I realized that Sarah Beth often did the same thing.

"The Mark is burning! What do I do?!" He seemed really panicked. I rolled my eyes and grabbed his arm, pulling him as I started to walk back towards the castle.

"Nothing." I simply stated. He stopped and I had to walk a few paces back to get even with him.

"Nothing?! How can we do nothing?! This isn't History of Magic we're talking about, it's the Dark-" I put a hand over his mouth.

"Shut up! What do you want to do, get us caught?" I started walking again. This time, he had to run to catch up with me.

"But He wants us!"

"We aren't the only ones! He wants everyone that's available!" I tried to explain as we entered the castle.

"That avali- Elle, that's crazy!"

"Shut up, Draco! Will you just listen to me?!"

"Why should I?!"

"Because I know more about it then you!"

"Will you just-" Suddenly, I was grabbed by the back of the collar. Draco and I were pulled back into a room. For a moment I was stunned, but when I finally got my wit back, I looked at Draco, who was as pale as a ghost. Then,I turned around to see who the assaulter was; Uncle Severus was looking down at us, looking unamused.

"Look at you two, behaving as if you were children!" He gave us a stern smack to the head. Not hard like my father would have done, but enough to make both of us say 'ow!'

"I was just trying to explain to Draco that-"

"I know what you were trying to explain!" My Uncle interrupted, "The whole school heard!" He smacked us again. This time only Draco exclaimed. "You have to be more careful! You should be lucky that I was the only one who was passing by. Merlin knows what would have happened if it were anyone else!"

"The Mark is burning, Snape!" Draco tried to defend his foolishness. This time I hit him. "Stop it!"

"Of course it is! Do you think mine isn't? We ignore it!" Uncle Severus seemed as frustrated as I was as Draco's ignorance.

"Wouldn't that make Him mad?"

"He understands we can't leave Hogwarts every time He wants a meeting."

"Now man up and deal with it!" I put in. Draco shot me a mean look.

"I don't need advice from you, Elle." He put extra venom in my name. I bit the inside of my cheek to keep myself from saying anything back. Uncle Severus put a hand between the two of us.

"Enough! I don't want to hear anything else about it." He stopped to check his pocket watch. "Now, it's time for your next class. If you don't hurry, you'll be late." He opened the door for the two of us and ushered us out. I glanced at Draco in the corner of my eye, and then headed towards the chorus room.

Flitwick had wanted a meeting between all the upper lever chorus students. He wanted our opinion on if we should start holding auditions or not. Ever since our last concert, which went wonderfully, an abundance of students had wanted to join. If he let all the people in who wanted in, then the room would be very crowded.

I entered the room to see that almost everyone had beaten me there. Usually, risers would be set up and everyone would be in their sections, but today only rows of chairs were set out. Instead of being in sections, it was free game. You could sit anywhere. On the far end of the rows I saw Vincent and Gregory sitting with a bag in the chair beside them. Vince looked over, saw me, and waved. I waved back and went to join him. He moved his bag as I sat.

"What did Draco want?" He questioned.

"I'll tell you later." I replied as I looked around again. Sarah Beth came bopping into the room. I felt Gregory stiffen beside me.

"Should I talk to her?" He asked us.

"No!" I automatically said.

"Yes." Vincent tried to shout over me. Gregory sent another glance towards Cumberland before working up the courage to get up.

Vincent and I watched as our friend cautiously walked over to his former girlfriend.

"If she shots him down, I don't want to hear him cry about it." I sneered. Vincent shushed me. Across the room Sarah Beth was standing with her hand on her hip. A pained expression was on her face. As Gregory was talking, it turned to confusion. Finally, it turned into pure rage.

"HE LIED TO ME!" She fiercely exclaimed. Gregory took a surprised step back. "HE BLOODY LIED TO ME! PERCY WAS RIGHT! HE BLOODY LIED TO ME!!!"

"Miss Cumberland-" Flitwick waddled in between them, but she cut him off.

"HE LIED TO ME PROFESSOR!"

"Who, dear? Mr. Goyle?"

"NO! HE...RU- AHHH!" Pure anger was radiating from her as she started to stomp towards the door. Everyone's eyes were following her out by that time. The only thing you could here after that was the door shutting and then four or five moments of silence.

Suddenly, she burst back through the door, her face still scarlet.

"MAY I BE EXCUSED, PROFESSOR!"

"I- I suppose..." Flitwick stuttered and nodded her head.

"THANK YOU!" Then she stormed out again.
