Sarah Beth~
Only a handful of students stayed at Hogwarts over Christmas Holiday. Gregory ended up going home, but promised to Floo me every night at seven in Flitwick's (who agreed to let me) office since the connections to the Common Rooms had been disabled due to safety reasons. Two days went by and he stayed true to the promise.
The third night came around and he still kept it.
"I really wish you would have come with me." He said for the fourth time that call. I shook my head.
"You know I couldn't."
"Yeah, I know..."
"Auntie could l find me there, but she can't here. Professor Dumbledore said so. He said Hogwarts is the safest place anyone could be."
"I guess that is true."
"I sent Christmas presents out today!" I changed the subject, trying to brighten the mood. "They should come tomorrow!"
"Wicked! I'll send yours out as soon as possible!" He assured. I laughed.
"You better!" I joked, making him laugh along with me.
"Oh, I wi-" suddenly, and to my surprise, the connection halted and Gregory's face went away. A moment later it was replace with Rufus's. I scowled. He cut into my Gregory Time!
"Get off of the Floo!" I commanded, crossing my arms.
"Sarah Beth! You don't have time for this! You have to listen to me!" He frantically tried to explain.
"Why should I?"
Because, I'm trying to warn you!"
"Of what? Your'e complete selfishness?"
"No! Your aunt knows that you're Flooing Goyle!"
"How? What!" My anger was pushed aside for panic.
"She's monitoring the school's Floo for the Ministry! She's been using it to her advantage! She's ticked that you didn't come home and she's going to try to talk to you!"
"When?!"
"Soon. Get out of the room!"
"Why should I trust you? You lied to me!"
"Yes, I know I did! I shouldn't have! But you need to get away from the fireplaces!"
"Why? Are you sorry?"
"Yes!" He exclaimed, annoyed. "Go!"
"You have to say it!" I commanded. He rolled his eyes.
"Yes! Yes, I'm sorry! Now, go!"
"Okay! I forgive you!" I smiled.
"Go!"
"Okay! Bye! Love you!" I scattered the ashes and started to head for the door. Before I got through, the fireplace blazed back to life.
"Sarah Beth Rose Cumberland!" Auntie's voice angrily rang though the room. instead of replying, I went fast and slammed the door just as a surprised Flitwick was about to go in.
"Finished already?" He asked. My frantic appearance didn't phrase him. He was as calm as always.
"Don't go in there!" I warned, blocking the door. "Auntie's in there and she's mad!"
"In the room?"
"No!" I rolled my eyes." That's silly! She's in the fireplace!"
"Oh, she's Flooing!" He figured out what I meant. "Why don't you try talking to her?"
"Because I'm not, okay! Don't tell her I'm here! You haven't seen me! Okay? Bye!" I ran off down the hall. All I could hear was Professor Flitwick shouting my name before finally giving up. As I ran, I smashed into another person.
"Cumberland!" Professor Slughorn exclaimed. "Do you want to go to my Christmas Par-"
"No!" I cut him off and continued to run. I kept going until I found myself at Professor Dumbledore's office, banging on the door.
