Summary: Dan and Phil are both high school teachers and Dan's students ship them, but Dan doesn't let Phil know cause he also kinda has a crush on him.

Dan had heard the speculation, of course. It was kind of hard not to, being stuck in a room full of teenagers for seven hours a day. He just didn't think a thing like that would be going around the class, and that it would be so popular.

He'd first overheard it from a couple of girls who had decided that whispering madly to each other in the back of the room was better than listening to the lesson. And when he'd headed over to them, he'd heard one single word before they realized he was their and pretended to be working.

Phan.

At first, he thought it was 'fan', and hadn't given it much thought. But then he'd seen it written down, on a stray sheet of paper. Along with various other things.

Phan. Dan and Phil. OTP.

He knew what most of it was, and was able to put two and two together. And honestly, it was very surprising.

He was good friends with the other English teacher, Mr. Lester, and he was sure that the other students had noticed their obviously close relationship. But he didn't think it went this far. Them 'shipping' the two of them. He didn't know if Phil also knew about it, but if he did, he was good at hiding it.

And now it was starting to butt into his personal life.

Honestly, when he'd accepted the job as the second Year 10 English teacher, he hadn't planned on getting distracted. Not by the work, and not by other people. But when Chris, the eccentric History teacher, had suggested he tag along with a few more adults to some bar, to get to know each other, Dan couldn't just refuse.

But nothing could have prepared him for Mr. Lester.

Despite the fact it was a casual outing, and everyone else was in jeans, Phil had still been decked out in teaching clothes: pale blue button up and a matching tie, with black slacks and shoes. But he didn't look at all out of place. And Dan couldn't keep his eyes off of the man, drinking in the way his arms just slightly filled out the sleeves of his shirt and the way his whole body was lean and long, extremely nice from what Dan guessed. And boy, did he guess.

And since then, he couldn't help but become impossibly more infatuated with him. It was like, every day there was some new detail that Dan was just now noticing, and that made Phil even more attractive.

Maybe he wasn't as careful about his crush as he'd thought, if even the students thought they'd make a good couple. He didn't know if that was a good thing or not.

It was Friday, thank god for that. This week has been the most life draining week he'd ever been through, and he was really just looking forward to going home and catching up on American Horror Story in his pajamas.

"Make sure you finish your book reports, they're due on Monday!" Dan yelled over the rustle and chatter of his students, all getting ready to leave for the weekend. He sighed, watching as they all rushed out when the bell rang. He'd be here for another hour at least.

The classroom was a mess, not unexpected. For some reason, Dan always had the urge to clean up after the students because he didn't feel as if the custodians got payed enough for all the shit they had to do.

He got up from his desk with another sigh and started picking up the trash and paper that littered the floor. There was at least two notebooks worth of it.

He reached the back row of desks, which seemed to be the messiest part of the room, and bent down unceremoniously. He snatched up a sheet of paper, and was just about to ball it up when something caught his eye.
