It wasn't very suspicious really, suffering from headaches, it was just inconvenient. I took as much help from Theo as he could give and yet didn't know how to tell him that it wasn't working.

The headaches were just getting worse.

"You okay?" Ace watched me from across the room, he sat cross legged with work infront of him and I was on the bed, my comic in hand, I could barely even see the words with how painful my head was.

It felt like my mind was being split in half, if a feeling like that could even ever be felt long enough to be remembered and documented.

"Yeah, yeah, just a headache," I was breathing deeply and closing my eyes for it when he walked over to me, he touched my forehead, his touch, I couldn't lie, took some of the edge off. "I think I just need to lie down."

"Should I get Theo?"

"No, no,"I was already shirtless, I looked at my beautiful mate and offered a small smile. "Don't suppose you wanna join me?"

Ace grinned and rolled his eyes before pushing me back and laying on my chest, the change in angle brought me a sigh of relief before I took his hand and placed it over my forehead just for maximum effect.

Ace chuckled at this before soon our heartbeats lulled us to sleep.

I couldn't tell you what happened in the dream, nor could I pinpoint if I was directly in it, all that could be said was that I woke up scared and bolting up in bed full of sweat, the headache had not gone away but it was reduced to a dullness.

"What's wrong?" I felt Ace hold onto my wrist as he sat up, grouchy while I was focused on the sound.

My dream was a hazy blur and I couldn't tell you what I saw or what was happening but the sound, it stuck a cord. It was like a rumbling, deep and ancient almost and it echoed in my head.

"I smell smoke." Ace said which brought me out of my thoughts, I sniffed and confirmed him to be right and yet the source was not within vicinity.

"I'll go check."

I went out of our room and sniffed and there was no smoke beyond the stairs, the scent it seemed was limited to our room. Upon turning on the lights there was nothing that indicated fire. Ace and I sighed staring at each other.

"Maybe someone lit a match," Ace offered me a soft smile and something in me somehow could not believe that to be true.

"Yeah, maybe."

I leaned over to him for a kiss, he hummed pulling me closer.

"We should really sleep," he murmured smiling, his hand trailing over my neck and shoulder, squeezing. "But we could also do other things."

"My, are we horny?" I grinned all tension gone from my body as I threw myself at my mate who chuckled holding onto me.

The weekend was by far my favourite time in a week because then I didn't have to be awake at ungodly hours and I didn't have to worry about being stopped when I picked up a comic.

I had finished the murder mystery one and the plot twist was that the child killed the victim, by accident and talk about trauma.

Aunty Carrin and Synthia were visiting. Playing with the kids and being kids while I stood beside Winston.

The man was large and proud, we were the same height however he was bigger than me in muscle mass and I had to say I was jealous of that.

Ace emerged from the house, running towards the joy that was children and playing and I smiled at the sight.
