𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐟𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐛𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐬 𝐚𝐬 you listened to the others over the mic, "nah c'mon. how'd we land two girls in one lobby-" you muted yourself in case of any words that may slip that would only make things worse, "i dunno. do they even know how to play the damn game properly?" you bit your tongue, mouse hovering over the unmute button, "c'mon sweethearts- can you fucking speak?" your eyes widened at the words before you unmuted yourself on impulse,

"did your mothers ever hug you as children? or are you just misogynistic?"

you could hear the other girl faintly giggle as you continued, "seriously. the little dick energy is immense."

you didnt wait for a response before disconnecting from the game and letting out a long sigh. looking over the time showed 11:00 pm, you thought for a minute before picking up your phone from the corner of your desk and typing out a text,

> yeah hold up-

you waited a minute, spinning around in your chair and clicking through tabs on your desktop as you waited. it wasnt long- maybe 6 minutes tops before your ringtone sang out in your quiet room,

"are you okay? did something happen?" his voice was clear on the other side though it didnt sound like he was indoors, "where are you?"

"ah- is the connection bad? i stepped out for a sec so kuro wouldnt wake up-"

you shook your head even though you werent talking in person, "no its fine." you stood up and began walking around aimlessly as you spoke,

"whats the training camp like? are you having fun?" 

"no. im constantly sweaty and running around."

you laughed a little, 

"ko- youre playing volleyball, of course youre gonna run around and get sweaty-"

unbeknownst to you, he had a hard time keeping a small smile off his face as he spoke with you,

"id rather be playing with you right now-"

you cut him off as you remembered the events that had just transpired minutes ago,

"that reminds me! i was put in a group with these two total dickwads. i hated every minute of it. their mics were hella crunchy too-"

"whats the @?"

"huh?"

"drop the @."

you laughed slightly, you had a slight laugh in your voice as you answered,

"doesnt matter. didnt bother me too much, besides, in just a little bit longer you'll be back. problem solved."

"or- you could just drop by some time- we could hang out for a bit and id be back at the school before 1 am-"

you thought for a second, you did want to spend time with kenma, preferably without a screen dividing you- and just without video games in general-

"y/n. lights out is at 10, so that'd leave us with at least 3 hours if you were here at exactly 10." 

you stayed quiet for a moment longer, debating this over in your head, after all, your mother didnt buy you a car for nothing,

"but- if you sneak out- wont you get in trouble or something- i mean- aren't you guys monitored?"

"its worth it. trust me."

you sighed before agreeing,

"alright. ill trust you, but promise me you aren't going to get in trouble because of me-"

"promise."

you smiled to yourself before plopping down onto your bed,

"goodnight kenma."

he flushed slightly, its not often you called him his actual name,

"don't hang up."

"hmm? why?"

"i wanted to tell you some-"

his voice cut out and you immediately removed the phone from your ear, the screen had gone black and wasnt turning back on. "shit. i should really keep track of my battery-" you hopped up and messaged kenma an explanation over discord before laying back down,

"ill ask him later."
