JOSEPHINE
My consciousness is leaving me for good. I guess they put chloroform on the cloth to make me faint. But I wasn't going to lose it. I willed my eyes to hold on longer and looked around me. There were three guys in total and one of them was holding up the back door to the trunk of the car while the other two carried me. I quickly thought of something and as soon as my legs were within reach, I kicked the first guy in the face. His head collided with the door and he fell unconscious. The other two dropped me in surprise and backed away which was a mistake on their side.
Wrong move, boys.
I kicked one in the area where the sun doesn't shine and the other one, I punched in the stomach. Both of them riled to their knees in pain and I took that moment to run the hell out of here. I took my bag which was still where I dropped it due to surprise and my phone was lying beside it. There was a huge crack running down the middle of the phone but I could not care less about it.
I figured my best bet was to dash into the school building as only students and teachers were allowed in. Everybody else would either have to be invited in or have to have a pass. No, it is not a 'vampires-have-to-be-invited-in' kind of situation. Obviously not. It's just that... ugh, I don't have time for that explanation right now.
Focus, Josephine.
I bolt into the Art Room where I find Caleb still working on his project.
"Caleb can you drop me to my place, please?"
"What's wrong? Why do you look so rushed?"
"There is some stuff."
"Is everything alright?" He questions as he packs up all his stuff in haste.
"Yeah, I just need to talk to dad. Something's come up and it can't wait."
"Okay. Yeah, okay. Come on." We walk out of the room and he walks to the main gate but I pull him back by the arm.
"By the back door, please."
"But why?"
"Caleb, please." I hear him sigh in defeat and he starts to follow me willingly.
"Fine. You're very weird, Jo."
"I know." I laugh and we exit through the back door to his car, which is parked near the front of the school. I keep my one eye on the guys standing there looking around the whole parking lot and waiting for me to turn up, their eyes livid with anger and annoyance. They probably didn't assume there would be a back door to the school. Very quietly and stealthily – by which I mean walking like I really have to pee – I get into Caleb's phone and we drive off. He drops me at my place and after thanking him for the ride, I bolt upstairs and call dad.
