JOSEPHINE
It has been two hours since we got Timothy here and the doctors took him into the operating to remove the bullet out of his body and I cannot put myself to rest. I know that it is all over now and it is for the best too, but I cannot help but feel as if there is still something very wrong going on and I cannot put a pin on it at all. I have called dad about what happened but he is not picking up.
"Miss Quinn?"
"Here." I stand up from the chair as I see the doctor approaching me. He stands in front of me and smiles.
"Timothy is fine now. We got the bullet out and he is conscious again. He was very lucky indeed that the bullet didn't travel deeper into the body. He will need a week's rest at most and he will be back on his feet again."
"That's great. Thank you doctor. Thank you very much."
"Don't mention it. You can go and see him now, by the way. Make sure he takes loads of rest and proper food intake."
"I will. Thanks." I smile one last smile before I head into the bedroom. I see him sitting up a little with the help of a few pillows and he is flicking through the Cosmo.
"You get out of an operation and the first thing you do is read Cosmo? Really?" I laugh as he looks up at me and grins. I sit down on the chair next to his bed and kisses my forehead.
"I took the Cosmo quiz and it turns out I do put career before men." He says with a wide grin and we both laugh at the Chandler Bing reference.
"I reckon you're feeling good, then?"
"I am. I really am. I just can't believe it is all over. We can be at peace now and all that shit." He smiles goofily yet again and I laugh at his face. I feel all my worries and troublesome thoughts leaving me as I look at him laughing. This is it. He is all I need and I feel as if we can beat anything and everything together.
"What are you smiling about?"
"You. What else? You have no idea how relieved I am that you are doing alright and that you are going to be fine."
"I could never leave you, could I now?"
"Never." I say and smile. He leans in a little and I lean the rest of the way as our lips meet. We have our first kiss and it is no way near perfect because of both our smiles but I wouldn't have it any other way. We pull away after a few minutes because of the mere need to breathe and he rests his forehead against mine.
"I love you so fucking much."
"I love you so fucking much, too." I smile and peck his lips one more time as my phone rings.
"Hello?"
"I have your father. Come to your forest cabin within 30 minutes if you want to see him before he dies."
