lola felt like the whole world was ending. she kept running back and forth to the bathroom but she didn't understand why. she wondered if she got food poisoning but, if that were the case she'd be sitting on the toilet not hunched over it.
"lola, are you okay?" she heard sissy ask. "do you want to go to a hospital?"
"uh," she hesitated. "no!" she was afraid. what if they told her she had three days to live? maybe she was being a tad bit dramatic but it's a possibility!
"do you want a pregnancy test?" she joked but lola didn't laugh.
"actually, yea!" sissy stopped laughing. she was sure that lola had to be joking but what if she wasn't? she stepped into the bathroom to find lola brushing her teeth.
"you sure?" lola nodded. "alright, well let's go."
"let me shower and change first," lola turned on the water. "i smell like puke."
"yea..." sissy took a step back. "i didn't want to say anything." the two girls laughed and both got ready to see what lola's future holds.
the two walked in silence up until they entered the pharmacy. they scanned the aisles until they found that they were looking for and headed up to the register.
lola's mind was racing and she didn't know what she was going to do if she does end up pregnant. she handed the cashier the money and waited for her receipt. her fingers tapped the counter in an unusual pattern.
"nervous?" he asked her.
"yea," she admitted.
"it's going to be fine," he assured. "you'll be a great mother." she smiled and took the bag off the counter. "have a great day!"
the two walked back to lola's apartment and she ended up running straight to the bathroom. she peed on the stick and set it down on her counter. as she washed her hands she wondered who the father was.
"lola!" sissy called. "did you set the timer for five minutes?"
"yeah!" she checked her phone and there were three minutes left. she let out a shaky breath and sat down next to sissy, she held her hand and laid her head on her shoulder.
the timer went off and sissy looked into lola's eyes. "you ready?" she asked.
"ready."
