CHRISSY VAN RUSSELL-The Good Daughter
She wanted to be just like her mother. Sasha was everything to her. So pretty. So sophisticated. Maybe she would grow into her looks as she got older.
But Chrissy had seen pictures of her mother at her age and she was drop-dead gorgeous even then. Maybe she had too much of her father in her. Too much Anglo-Saxon. She did not think her father was attractive, just a plain, run-of-the-mill dad.
She was just a messed-up mix of both. Not the looks of her mother, nor the brain like her father. Even Ejay was super smart like their father.
"Oh, it's useless," she said through a sniffle as she slammed her locker shut.
"Hey, what's up cuzzo," she heard.
"Stop calling me that."
"Sorry," Tony said as he stood beside her locker. "Tell me what's wrong?"
"Nothing," she said, wiping away tears.
"No, un-unh! Something is bringing tears to this pretty little face," he said, pinching her cheek.
Chrissy smiled.
"You think I'm pretty?"
"Everyone does Chrissy, but you."
"You just say that because I'm practically like your family...and I say practically," Chrissy said, pushing his hand away.
"It's true! And I got you to smile."
Tony was a good friend and she did enjoy hanging out with him, even if he thought of her as a friend. If she looked like her mom he would ask her out in a heartbeat.
"My dad's back in town," she told him.
"Oh, how's that going?"
"He's totally ignoring me as always."
"Your father sounds like a douchebag. Oh, sorry."
"No...I mean, yeah, sometimes. But he's my dad and he's so cool if you get to know him."
"I seriously doubt that. At least your mom is cool."
"I miss her."
"You see her on weekends."
"That's not enough. I want to live with her. I want to see her every day."
"Mommy's little girl," Tony said, putting his arm around her. "You know, I was going to hang out with my unc today. Come along, you'll be able to see Sasha."
"Really?"
"Yeah. My mom is away on business. I'm supposed to go stay at my unc's tonight. It'll be cool. You're my guest."
Chrissy smiled. "Okay."
"A'ight, I gotta go," Tony said, walking off.
She got to hang out with her mom and spend time with Tony. The day was looking better already.
ANTONIO JACKSON-Man of the House
"Why the hell are we having this conversation again? I told you how I felt about it and that's that."
Antonio finished washing his hands and grabbed a towel. His wife, ever determined, had followed him into the bathroom after he came home from work. A man could not work a hard day, come home, and take a dump in peace.
"You won't even consider for one second my side of this, Tonio! I want another baby. I want a little you. You should be flattered your wife wants to have your son."
