DONNA JACKSON-Yes to the Ring!

Words could not come to her. Ethan Van Russell wanted to marry her. Was this happening? Her hands went damp, her heart beat faster, her eyes blurred, and her mouth went dry. Even in the loud party room surrounded by her son, and Ethan's family, she felt like they were the only two in the room.

Ethan repeated himself.

"Donna, will you marry me?"

She slowly nodded, then quickly nodded.

"Yes," she managed to say. "Yes, I will marry you!"

She heard the others cheer, but all she could see was Ethan sliding the ring on her finger. A perfect fit. She smiled at her gorgeous now fiance. All the years she spent hating him, hiding from him, now they would be together forever.

"Ethan." She felt breathless like she was holding her breath and was yet to release it.

Ethan brushed a tear from her cheek, then touched her lips.

"I told you I didn't want to make you cry."

"Ethan," she said again, staring into his bright blue eyes. "I love you."

"I love you too." He held her in his arms and kissed her. The moment was perfect...

"Mom, Dad, could you guys cool that for a minute!" And then Tony ruined it. Her son pulled her away from Ethan's arms so that he could hug her. "Mom, you look so happy."

"I am son." She kissed his cheek, squeezing him tight before releasing him. Her son, eighteen and taller than her by half a foot, was no longer her baby. For years he was her only connection to Ethan, after their brief relationship.

"Oh my God Donna, let me see this ring!" Chrissy grabbed her hand. "Dad, you did well."

"Uncle E, congrats!" Elayne hugged Ethan, then pushed past him to get to Donna and to stare at the ring as well. "Donna, we have to find the perfect dress. I'll help you."

"Summer wedding," Daphne stated as she too clamored over the ring.

"Yes!" chimed in Elayne.

"No, too far away. Spring," added Ethan, but no one was listening to him.

"At the Van Russell Estates," Doreen went on. "Oh, it's going to be so pretty come springtime."

"Can I be in the wedding Donna?" Chrissy asked.

"Sure, sweet pea," Donna said, hugging her.

"Ooo, me too!" Elayne said.

"Sure!"

"Lots of flowers from the garden," Doreen was rambling on about plans for the wedding, yet her brain had not wrapped around it enough.

Daphne was right with her, ready to make plans. "And a waterfall, or maybe ice sculptures and white doves."

"Oh dear God!" Jennifer groaned, shot back her champagne, and walked away.

Chrissy hooked her arm into Donna's.

"I know I have a mom, and she's great...but, can I call you mom too?"

"Sure, honey."

Saying yes to Ethan meant saying yes to now becoming a stepmother to his two teenage kids.

MARTY VAN RUSSELL-Still on a Mission

"Well," Marty said, approaching Donna.

"Hello, Marty." The smile on Donna's face dropped when she saw him and that disturbed Marty. He wanted to see her smile, her smile lit up her face. Still, there was no denying her beauty with her perfect brown skin and slim and curvy body in that tight black dress.
