2. Act Up

Cali Serenity.

I sat down on the queen sized bed wrapped in my towel as I oiled my legs with some coconut oil and shea butter.

I didn't stay for dinner at my parents' house but momma did slide me a plate so I wouldn't have to stop for dinner.

I love mommy to pieces even though daddy acting pigheaded.

"Cali" I looked up to see Monique standing in the door way still in her work attire.

"Lets go out tonight"

"No ma'am" I said, shaking my head. "I have class in the morning"

"Pleeeeease come on, KJ having a party in Hollywood and I'm dying to show off this new dress"

She showed me a pink dress with the middle cut out with glittery sequins on it.

I twisted my mouth to the side.

"Monique where you buy this dress from?" ogling at the dress.

"Bitch, Shane Justin was having a 50 percent off flash sale and I got the last Medium"

"You need a large with all that ass you got"

"Look who fuckin talkin" she mumbled before sitting down next to me on the bed. "Come on, lets go out for a few drinks, say hey and bounce"

"How you know KJ having a party? He aint tell me that"

"Girl, KJ was by my job earlier"

I frowned and raised a brow. "Oh yeah, that's the 2nd time this week he been by your job"

"I don't know why you lookin at me like that fa'. Maybe he got community service since he in court with that evil bitch of a baby momma he got"

"Mo, he is not in court for charges. He having a custody battle for Kaylani." I said, laughing.

"Who cares, let's go out. I'll even buy you your drinks"

I squinted my eyes before folding my arms.

"Sis, when have we ever paid for drinks?"

Monique looked up at the ceiling as if she was really trying to remember the last time we paid for drinks.

"Umm...we never pay last time I checked, which is why we should really go. Just come on, you work all the time and faithfully doing school work, you can come out for a few. You did it at spelman"

"Yeah, I did it at Spelman bitch and graduated with a 2.3 GPA. You know how fucking mad my parents were?" I mocked her.

"I didn't even graduate cum laude bitch"

"Oh yeaaaaa" she looked over at me. "You stay, ill go" she looked away before quickly leaving my room.

I couldn't help but laugh.

I'm really considering going out. I have been on grind mode since I got back home to Los Angeles and saving all that I can now that I am in Nursing school.

I don't receive any grants so that little $9,000 dollars I had last year is completely gone.

My phone vibrating snapped me out of my thoughts as I saw Chris name flash across the screen. I smiled and answered the call.

"Hello?" I answered.

"Wassup beautiful"

"Hi hun, how are you today?"

"Im good, tired as fuck. You busy tonight?"

"I'm not sure yet? Why you wanna see me?"

"What you think" Chris laughed. "Hell yea I wanna see you if you aint got no studying to do"
