12. L.A.X

One week later.

Omniscient.

"I must admit, I am pretty impressed at the test scores from last week exam." Drill smiled, walking through the aisle of the classroom.

She was passing out the tests to her future nurses from last week exam. Dr. L knew that this test was difficult and while some didn't do their best, there were some who continued to perform at their greatest.

Cali responded swiftly to her text messages before she glimpsed over at Jatavia who leg was shaking as she bit anxiously at her nails. 

"Will you calm down" Cali glared at her. "You did fine."

"I hope so because that test was hard as hell." She murmured.

Cali shook her head as her phone vibrated in her hand to see a notification from IG pop up on her screen. It was from Tae.

Arrogant_Tae: Heyyy girl yesss, I'll be right over today to slayyy you.

Cali replied fast as she couldn't wait to get her hair done by Tae himself.

CaliDreamm: Cool: seee u in a few.  I stay on Overhill Dr.

Although she knew how to do hair and her mother was a guru, she just needed him to slay her because his work was that damn good.

"Here you go Ms. Wright."  Dr. L said as she placed the thick packet face down on her desk.

Cali stomach turned as she flipped her test over unhurriedly. Her butterflies briefly went away as she stared at the bolded Red numbers 93 on her test paper. 

She exhaled in relief that she was able to uphold her A average in the course but she knew just one thing, Jatavia had to successively pass too on her watch.

"How did you do?" Jatavia questioned her.

"I did okay. I got a 93. How did you do?"

Jatavia stared at the paper in disbelief as she twisted her lips to the side.

"I didn't do so good. I don't know why I can't get a good grade. Maybe this field ain't for me."

"What?" Cali muttered. "But you studied so hard and really put in work."

Jatavia displayed her the paper and Cali eyes skimmed it quickly before looking back at her.

"Gotcha!" she laughed as she ran her fingers through her hair.

"I was about to say bitch!" Cali chuckled, shaking her head. "You did amazing, you got a 90 girl!"

"Thanks to you helping me study forreal Cali, it means a lot to me."

"I'm happy for you babe. You deserve it." She smiled sincerely.

She observed Jatavia look around at some smiling faces and some not so happy faces.  She was just blessed she wasn't the unfortunate faces.

Jatavia knew that feeling oh too well when it came to exams.

Dr. L instructed the class that they have a lab next week and need to make sure they are on time, as they will stay the whole 3-hour time limit.

Then class was released. 

Gathering her things, Cali conversed with Jatavia as they departed the classroom. Dr. L winked at Cali, who returned a relaxed grin as they walked the halls towards the building exit.
