i have never been the same

intelligent eyes, in a hunger-pang frame

and when i saw those eyes, i forgot my dang name

set my heart aflame, every part aflame

this is not a game

akagi wanted to say he would care. but how could he? he had only just met the girl. but that was the moment he made eye-contact with the girl. he took in what he saw, deeply.

doki doki.

he noticed her skinny stature, but he also saw her eyes. he wasn't sure if he was going insane or not, however he saw intelligence of some sort hidden deep within them. observance? hidden intellect? he wasn't positive; however he did see something there.

that was when he felt his heart do something.

doki doki.

without a second thought, he ran up to the girl in front of him grabbed her by the hand; leading her towards the bench near the door, further away from the edge of the roof.

"i care!" akagi yelled in her face, making the girl blink in bewilderment. he felt himself on fire as he yelled those words out. she then scoffed in disbelief.

"how could you? you don't know me," she replied, coldness empowering her eyes. akagi took her hand swiftly. it was unsurprisingly cold, so he warmed it with his own hands before replying.

"give me a chance to, and i'll take it."

doki doki.

"kind stranger-kun, why are you doing this to yourself? i'm only going to hold you back. i'm bound to want to leave this place all over again. i'm not worth your time."

akagi's eyes widened at her, before sighing and giving her a simple response in return.

"i'll make you want to stay. i'll show you what it's like to be happy again."
