'you strike me as a man who had never been satisfied'

i'm sure i don't know what you mean, you forget yourself

'you're like me. i'm never satisfied'

is that right?

'i have never been satisfied'

days went by quick and l/n was slowly regaining what she had once lost. akagi fulfilled his promise. he made l/n happier again. she wanted to stay.

l/n slowly gained popularity. she went from being invisible, to being the school's 'it' girl. she had a variety of friends and people wanted to talk to her. it was all so new to her. this had never happened to her before, and she had akagi to thank for it.

akagi was already popular. he was the school's volleyball team's official libero. one of the most talented junior high liberos in the country too, might i add. his cheery persona and his natural, along with finely polished, talent got him noticed everywhere.

l/n never left akagi behind. her mindset was now going perfectly thanks to him, and she improved her grades. her grades were top-tier and she she was frankly a happy and successful teenage girl.

she never felt more satisfied. at least that was what she thought for time being.

"hey kind stranger-kun, are you satisfied with life right now?"

akagi raised an eyebrow. it wasn't a commonly asked question.

"i suppose so? why?"

"you seem like someone who has never truly been satisfied before," l/n shrugged, going back to her maths homework.

"hah? what do you mean by that?" akagi demanded, wanting an explanation. he took slight misdemeanour to that observation.

l/n plainly shrugged, "you seem like you're only convincing yourself you're fine with things as they are, but really, you want something to change. i can't tell what it's referring to, but i suspect it's volleyball."

"you're like me, i'm never satisfied," l/n added.

"is that right?"

"i have never been satisfied," she repeated, confirming her answer.
