number one! i'm a boy in a world in which

it's a dream to be one who can bewitch

my friends aren't so warm, so i'm the one

who has to social climb for one

akagi looked over to the people in the corridors, easily finding themselves swayed by l/n's presence. it was then he realised how much people relied on their social status to find a partner, which lowered his spirits. he was glad to have found l/n back in junior high, when something like that was so trivial.

social status wasn't all that important for l/n. that's why she stuck with akagi all those years, even with a social status like hers. akagi's social status was high too though.

he was known as l/n's best friend.

but never 'lover'.

he was important to her.

but apparently, not important enough.

i'm not the shortest, but the wittiest

and the gossip in our school isn't so insidious

and l/n used to be invidious

ha! that doesn't mean i want her any less.

akagi remembered the days when l/n was nothing like the person she was today. they could even be mistook as different people, concerning how contrary they are to one another.

he knew how differently people would treat her if they found out what she had been through. the pain she had went through, before she met akagi.

akagi was the reason l/n was still alive. he was a cheerful person. not overly irritating, but to the extent of which he will always make someone smile.

news traveled fast in inarizaki high school. if someone liked someone, people would know quickly.

akagi never worried about his liking to l/n getting around. he was good at concealing his feelings and could act well, whether that was considered a good thing or not.

when it was confirmed that kita had a crush on l/n, he had never felt so bitter.

he saw it coming, but he thought it was all in his head.

but it wasn't. and he did absolutely nothing to stop it.
