You waved back. Spencer turned his back from you, he unlocked his car and opened the door. Settling at the driver's seat before placing the paper bag in the passenger's seat. He took the cup of hot chocolate, blowing it before sipping. He got excited that he spilled hot chocolate spill on his top. His hand went inside the paper bag and grabbed the tissues you gave him. Before patting it on his clothes, he noticed something written on one of the tissues.

Spencer held the tissue in his hand, paralyzed with happiness.

Time flew by, it was the end of your shift. Your first day was memorable, especially when you saw Spencer. Kaelin walked up to you as you were cleaning the tables. 

"Hey, how was your first day?" 

You tilted your head, smiling at her. "It was nice."

"I'm glad. I'm excited to work more shifts with you." She stated, exchanging smiles with you. 

Kaelin waited for you to finish everything you needed to do before leaving. When you were finished, you removed your apron. Hanging it in the back beside Kaelin's apron. You grabbed your bag and went up to her. 

"Thank you again, Kaelin." 

"You're welcome, Y/N. See you tomorrow." 

She waved at you as you exited the shop. You haven't felt accepted in any place that you settle in for work. This was a first. 

This is only temporary.

Walking back to your apartment, you decided to have a quiet walk. You were filled with thoughts. Thoughts you didn't want anyone to know or admit to yourself. Before entering, you grabbed your phone and checked the time.

6:00. Still have time to rest.

You were about to put your phone back in your bag. Suddenly, it rings. Someone was calling you. 

Unknown number.

"Hello?" You asked

"Hey Y/N. It's Spencer."

"Oh, hi Spencer. I guess you saw the tissue." You smiled. You can almost hear Spencer smiling in the other side of the call too.

"Yeah, I did. I almost used it."

"Spilled hot chocolate?"

"Yeah.. How did you know?"

You tell the truth. "When I was young, I get excited when it comes to hot chocolate. Every time I drink I cup, I tend to spill it on myself."

Spencer chuckled. "That's exactly what happened."

Then, silence. The silence was not awkward, it was the type that you didn't have to say anything to let the other person know you were there. 

You remembered that you were meeting later. You broke the silence. 

"Why did you call, Spencer?"
