"Nothing. Good night, Y/N."

"Good night, Spencer." You said, defeated.

You ended the call, even though it left you confused.

Did you really have phone sex with Spencer?

This was the last thing you thought about as you fell asleep on your couch.

---

It's been more than a week since Spencer last contacted you. You felt ghosted. You knew he wouldn't do that. He was pure and genuine.

Kaelin adjusted your schedule at the shop. You took morning shifts every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Leaving the remaining days of the week for the shifts at night. Your work schedule made you busy. Spencer crossing your mind whenever someone enters. He hasn't come back since your first day.

Kaelin asked you to help her pack some pastries for the family seated in the middle. You looked at them.

It was a father with his son. The father's hair was short and sweet, wearing a black polo shirt tucked inside khaki pants, a black belt, leather shoes and a Rolex Submariner.

His son was seated on his lap. The son was cute. You didn't like kids that much.

You turned your back on Kaelin, giving you the pastries for the family. Their surname written on the receipt to be called.

"Hotchner." You called. They looked at you. The son stood up hurriedly from his lap, making your way to you.

"Thwank you!" The son said, his father immediately picked him up gently and carried him on his shoulders.

Wow, strong.

"You're welcome, cutie patootie." You tried your best to entertain the child.

The father smiled at your attempt, getting the box from the counter with his right hand. His left hand supporting his son's legs. The father mouthed "Thank you" to you, shifting their feet towards the door.

As they left, you heard your phone ring. A new message.

Spencer.

You made your way to the back of the shop. You didn't want Kaelin to think you were slacking at work. Now, you were alone. You opened Spencer's message.

Spencer: I'm sorry for not keeping in touch.

Short.

Y/N: It's okay. Duty calls.

You put your phone back in your pocket, walking back inside the shop. You didn't want to be distracted at work because of Spencer. When you got back, Kaelin asked for help with a customer's drink. You obliged.

You walked back to the counter when the drink was done, calling the name from the cup.

"Reid."
