The plane ride was interesting, I'd never been on a plane before. The takeoff was a little rocky but in all it was okay. I found myself sitting next to Maddy "do you even know how long till we get there?" She shook her head "I'm guessing hours and hours but I don't really know" I just nodded and put my earbuds in, listening to feur frei I began to silently rock out.Eventually I did drifted off to sleep with my head against the window. I was totally ready to just land in Germany.
I was eventually woken by Maddy "are we there yet?" I asked groggily "no...but they're serving dinner and it actually looks pretty good.." Food? I perked up a little as a stewardess passed out menus "what're you getting?" I shrugged "what's a panini?" I squinted my eyes at the text not knowing what the hell half the stuff was...or why an airplane had a menu. I eventually agreed on a BLT and the teacher put a movie in for us before announcing that we'd reach Germany before the movie was even over. YASSSS! I was beyond excited so i squirmed in my seat trying to keep from breaking out into my happy dance, I kept my composure and began shaking Maddy "MAD! DO YOU KNOW WHERE WE ARE!?" She smiled her wonderful white teeth smile, "umm.. Germany?" I nodded frantically while all of a sudden observing my best friend her long blonde locks flowed down her shoulders and her blue crystallized eyes, motto be weird but she was gorgeous... "Okay everyone! Grab your overhead bags and get into a line outside the airplane, there will be no pushing or shoving is that understood?" No... "Yes, ma'am" the class said in unison, we were all excited but me and Madison for sure we're the most excited...I could be living here and the end of this... Forever! Ahhhh!
As the line moved onwards outside, we eventually reached the airport itself to go and claim our luggage. Mine was relatively first to come around so as I grabbed it I noticed some flyers on a bulletin board. As I wandered over there were advertisements for lots of things but the one that stood out to me was there was a Rammstein concert happening in two days! What?! "Madison!" I yelled "you don't have to yell, I'm literally right behind you..." I practically grabbed her shoulders and shoved her into the bulletin board making her see the flyer... "No fucking way..." I smiled and nodded as she turned to me mouth wide open "we have to find a way to go!" I nodded but realization suddenly hit me "mad, it's in two days there's probably no tickets left..." She frowned understanding "we have to at least try, right?" I smiled "duh!"
As we got led to the hotel rooms mrs. Roberts paired us up into our 'German buddies' thankfully when the time came she gave me Madison as my.. 'Partner'. Since the hotel rooms had two beds per room, who we roomed with our partners.. Which led strictly to guys with other guys and girls with other girls. Bleh. The hotel rooms were nice! They were extremely spacious. There was easily enough room for four people per hotel room but thankfully it was just two. After mrs. Roberts told us we had free time to do what we want as long as we took a map and cell phone, in case we get lost. I turned to Madison who looked like she was in her natural element "let's go try to buy tickets" I urged and she nodded as we grabbed jackets and stepped out "be back before seven!" We nodded at our teacher who was losing her shit between letting everyone out on their own.
We were walking towards whatever looked like it could hold on concert but then the thought hit me... We have american money only.. "Shoot! Maddie! We have American money we have to get it converted to euros" she nodded, "uhh.. Where do we Chang wit out at?" I thought.. "A bank?" She nodded and off we went.. But of course all signs were german so.. Yeah. Finally we came across a building that had an English sign that said 'we convert cash' I pulled her into the building but immediately felt out of place.. "Hallo! Willkommen!" (Hello, welcome!) madison turned to me obviously expecting me to talk "Hallo, Sie sprechen Englisch?" (Do you speak English?) She nodded "how can I help you today?" I breathed a sigh in relief "I'd like to convert money, please" and so it begins... This was our first step to getting into a Rammstein concert.
"What parent gives there kid 3500 to blow in Germany?" I shook my head and rolled my eyes, "I'm going to be living here.. They wanted to start me off good" she frowned a little "well, it only gives you 3068 after conversion" (don't know if that's right, I used google convert) "it's not fair though, my parents only gave me three hundred.." I smirked but then frowned "yeah. But my parents literally got into a huge argument over it.." She nodded, understanding. And we kept walking. "It's almost 5:30! Where the hell is it?!" I shrugged, "maybe we should start heading back.." I was doubtful of finding it "No! It's got to be fucking here somewhere! I mean how big is Berlin?!" There was the sound of laughter behind us "I don't know.. But what's the odds of just coming across the place where it'll be held? I mean seriously, then the signs will be in german you twit!" I felt bad for snapping at her but she needs to be realistic "Avery! This is fucking Rammstein we're talking about... Not Justin Bieber! Now come on, we have to find it!" I groaned until there was a voice coming from behind us "excuse me?" We turned to see none other than Richard Kruspe... Oh my god.
I knew my mouth was open but I couldn't help but stare only glancing at Madison, she had the same expression.. "Wow.." Was all I could say "I overheard you girls talking about Rammstein and a concert and I assumed you needed help" madison nodded "we were wondering where it was and if there was tickets left" she was calm and composed... While I was sweaty and nervous. Richard chuckled but immediately composed himself "it's actually right over there. And I'm sorry to say but the tickets are indeed sold out" my face immediately fell... Oh. "Damnit! I blame mrs. Roberts for this!" I turned to Madison completely shocked "how was it her fault..?" She shrugged "if we had gotten here quicker-" she just gave up knowing she was in the wrong "you guys come from America?" Richard asked and I nodded "we're here on a senior school trip.. We're fans, so we kinda were hoping there'd be tickets..." He nodded "I don't know if it helps but they were sold out two days ago.." That really doesn't help... Madison sighed "oh well.." Richards face fell but perked back up "actually.. I was wondering if you could help me?" I shrugged and nodded along with Maddie "great! I need these boxes in there" he pointed in the building "just put them on the stage" we nodded and began helping.. Oh boy I'm such a great citizen.. Oh wait, I'm not even a citizen of Germany.. Bleh.
After setting the final boxes on the stage we sat down on it to take breathe, "is this where you guys are performing?" It was so cool being able to talk to Richard, like person to person. "Yeah, oh that reminds me! I owe you girls for the help!" I shook my head "you don't have to, it was our pleasure helping.. And heh, now we can actually say we were in a place where a Rammstein concert was" Maddie smiled and nodded. He smiled and shrugged but continued to pull two pieces of paper out of his pants pocket "oh.. Well, I was going to pay you with front row tickets...but.. If you insist" my eyes widened once more "I thought there was no more?! Holy cow!" He handed us each a ticket "there technically isn't.. But the band gets tickets to give to friends and family" I smiled.. Oh my god. This is incredible! "Thank you!" He just smiled and laughed a little "it's fine, I got to get going. But I'll see you at the concert, right?" We both nodded in unison keeping a death grip on our tickets "ok! See you then!" We waved as he walked away.. This..is.. I don't even know..
