"I don't know what's wrong with it. I send a bird, it disappears. I make it come back and..it's Dead."
Draco explained, sitting on a couch with his head in his hands.Draco has found a way. A way to get death eaters into Hogwarts safely.. or.. somewhat safely. We weren't quite there yet.
The Room of Requirements. That's where he had found a vanishing cabinet. There was another in Borgin and Burke's down Knockturn Ally.
We had spent weeks just sending stuff through the cabinet, getting them back but.. broken, dead or disfigured.
"I'll figure it out. We'll figure it out."
Comforting Draco, I couldn't help but to think back to Severus. He had been busy, not getting a lot of time to talk or do anything really.
"We'll have to. We have no other way."
Draco stood, walking up to the cabinet again.Pacing around the room as be observed from afar. Silence filled the air, his footsteps echoing around the room.
"I don't know what to do. Makennas on to us..
I don't like lying to her." He stopped in mid thought.I could see the wheels spinning in his head. He was anxious, I could feel it.
"What are you going to do? Tell her?"
"Maybe."
"Draco" I placed a hand on his arm, making him look at me.
"She loves you. She'll understand."
With this his eyes had grown big. Unable to mutter up words, his eyes were flourishing with emotions.
"She.. loves me?" His voice cracked
"Of course she does. I see how you look at eachother."
Stuck in deep thought, he scanned the room again. It looked like he was looking for an answer.. these days you'd be lucky to get one. Nothing felt real anymore.
The vanishing cabinet had rattled a bit, breaking your train of thought.
"Draco"
"I know"
We both walked cautiously up to the cabinet, hesitating to get close.
"Do you think it.. it's working?"
"Let's hope to Merlin. If this doesn't work and I don't kill Dumbledore.. The Dark Lord will have my arse."
Draco said as he slowly reached his hand out in front of the cabinet.Slashing, wheeling, whirling. Sounds came from inside, shaking the whole cabinet.
As Draco let out a deep sigh be quickly opened the cabinet, jumping back again.
"No.. did it work?" I clung to the back of Draco's black shirt.
Inside the cabinet, lay a beautiful, gold hand held mirror. The same mirror we had sent away in the cabinet just minutes before.
Draco picked it up, spinning it around to look at its condition.
"Y/N... Y/N IT WORKED! IT WORKED!"
Draco laughed as he spun around, pulling me into a big embrace."Holy shit." I said, relieved the cabinet had not broken the mirror.
"Let's try something else.. uh, this!" Draco said running over to a pile of trophies, pulling one out.
Placing the trophy in the middle of the cabinet he closed the doors, muttering a quick vanishing spell.
He opened it back up, finding nothing.
"Let's hope this works.. or else we're screwed."
He closed the cabinet again, muttering a spell.
He opened the cabinet to a perfectly good Trophy."Oh my LORD! Draco you did it!" I laughed jumping up and down out of excitement.
"We did it." He smiled
We sat down on the couch. Silence filled the room as we relaxed for the first time in weeks.
Draco had done it. Now it was time for the hard part.
We would have to tell Voldemort, then the plan begins. Dumbledore would die, and Draco would have to do it.
I shook that though out of my mind, relaxing once more.
"So.. about Makenna." I shifted my gaze towards Draco.
"I'm going to have to.. I'm just to afraid to tell her. She would be broken."
"She would understand. I'm sure of it."
He smiled, turning his attention to the ceiling. It was quiet again, thoughts floating around in my head. I wished it were me. Me killing Dumbledore instead of Draco. I hated to see him so hurt. There was nothing I could do though. Soon it would all be over.I would have to tell Dumbledore, but first I need to find Severus...
