1 1/2 weeks later

August's P.O.V

I was in my room, already dressed fo da funeral.............my momma tryin to get me to get out the room but I don't wanna go.......I can't see my brotha like that....I held my head in my hand tryin not to cry....dats  all I've been doin, I went to school once ever since his death.....I ont go no where, stay in my room all day, the only people that come up stairs to see me is Kayla, my mom, Cameron, nd chris......sometimes drew, yanique, nd Chanel come..... But kay come everyday, even though I told her not to worry about me...

Momma:*knocking* August cmon we have to go

I ain't say nothing I just laid back, I barely talk now, things just aren't the same.....my window opened nd a little girly bag came flying in, nd Kayla climbed in .....she had on a white dress that was short, nd stopped a little above her knees,she had nice legs too nd she had white heels nd red lipstick with her hair nice nd curled she looked nice, I was surprised cuz kay didn't like to dress to girly , she came in nd fixed her dress looking annoyed nd sat next to me

Me:...................you look nice

Kayla: *soft* thanx.........your mom said no black so I went with this

We sat there in silence until I started thinking how the hell she got in from the window

Me: how did you get in

Kayla: I climbed...............you ready

Me: I ont wanna go

Kayla: what chu mean you don't wanna go

Me:*a little loud* I DON'T wanna go.......there ain't no fucking explanation

Kayla:....................*sighs*

Me: sorry I ain't mean to yell

Kayla: yeah, yeah, yeah, I know

She said getting up.............she walked around nd sat at my computer desk, nd looked at her nail, they were a perfect white.....

Kayla: imma say this once nd clear

She looked at me with a straight face so I knew she was serious  nd wasn't playin no games

Kayla:*calmy* you are going to get up nd we're gonna go to that funeral......I understand this is hard but you can't hide from this August, you told me didn't say goodbye, well this is your chance to say it, or aleast in a different way..............

I sighed nd thought, then I heard her get up nd her heels clicked towards me, nd I felt her sit on my lap nd when I opened my eyes she was just sitting there opening a piece of gum nd putting it in her mouth.........I sat up nd wrapped my arms around her waist nd she pulled them off

Me: cmon what I do

Kayla: nothing

She got up nd got her little bag nd walked towards the door, I got up following her because a lotta times when she don't get her way she start goin crazy nd I ain't tryin to get punched in the eye or deep ass scratches on me I grabbed my shades.....Kayla put hers on to that matched her out good, and we went downstairs, my momma was in the kitchen cryin nd kay went over there to hug her nd comfort her, after that we walked out to my car nd got in driving to the church..... My heart was beating faster when we got closer.........then we were in front of the church my momma was looking straight ahead nd when I looked back kay was looking out the window wiping her cheeks  I sighed nd sat there too cutting the car off, momma got out first, nd so did Kayla holdin my mom while they walked in the church, after a couple of minutes kay came running out nd opened my door
