Chapter 7: Halloween

      That very morning do you know what your one true dream was? Having a camera, because the face Malfoy made as he saw you guys walking into the halls, happy at that, was priceless, you wanted to frame it!

      By this time Nico had managed to sneak onto the Slytherin tables without being noticed. Let's be honest yeah, yesterday, right after the little adventure with that three-headed dog you guys were tired and a little scared but now, gods, you were all itching for some new adventure (but you were still tired, physically speaking).

      You, Ron and Harry just spent the entire time hypothesising what could the parcel be. "It could be powerful!" Ron exclaimed, in turn, you said, "or it could be very dangerous" "Or both," said Harry. However, the only solid information you had on this object was that it was about 5 cm in length. You guys were nowhere close to uncovering what it was. Hermione didn't help either, she didn't want anything to do with last night. To the boys, it was a bonus, but to you, not so much, she was your friend after all.

     Changing the topic, you all tried to come up with a revenge plan against Malfoy, however to no avail. But then a week later the owls brought exactly what was needed, a long thin package along with a letter was dropped right in front of Harry. "Great... why does it always have to be my eggs," you muttered as the package partially landed in your once appetising breakfast. It was most curious to everyone including Harry himself.

      Harry made the wise decision of first opening the letter as it very clearly said "DO NOT OPEN THE PARCEL AT THE TABLE. It contains your new Nimbus Two Thousand, but I don't want everybody knowing you've got a broomstick or they'll all want one. Oliver Wood will meet you tonight on the Quidditch field at seven o'clock for your first training session. Professor M. McGonagall" He quickly handed the note to Ron and you, with the stupidest grin one could have on his face, Ron was very quickly excited at the thought of a Nimbus Two Thousand and quickly dragged Harry up to the dorms to unwrap it, with you barely keeping up. 

     Unfortunately, before anyone could do anything, halfway down a hall Malfoy stopped you, "Well Potter, now you've done it, students aren't allowed their own brooms." This started a whole verbal war between Ron and Malfoy about brooms and financial standings, but the argument was cut short by Professor Flitwick. Malfoy quickly seized this chance to tattle, but Flitwick's answer left Malfoy with an expression of shock and terror, "I see it's arrived then, what model is it?" Harry quickly replied that it was a Nimbus Two Thousand, "Where is a bloody camera when you need it?" you thought. Oh, the jealousy on Malfoy's face was so obvious even he didn't even try to hide it. The cherry on the cake was when Harry actually said, "Oh Malfoy, it was really thanks to you I got this opportunity, so thank you!" Malfoy literally just turned around and walked away with his gang following him in his footsteps. Nico did a quick double turn, stuck up both his thumbs and mouthed, "Awesome broom and kudos, Harry!" and quickly did his best to catch up to his brother.

     Suddenly from behind, you heard a familiar bossy voice, "I can't believe it, rewards for breaking the rules." Before you could even utter a single word, Ron said, "I thought God blessed me with the lack of your presence, please don't appear now!" "Hmmph!" Hermione said as she stomped away.

     "Goodness! Must you be so rude to her she is my friend too you know?" you said. "Well 'goodness', my arse, I can be as rude as I like as long as she keeps up with that attitude!" "Point taken, but still-" you were cut off by Harry, "Sorry N/n but I need to put my broom upstairs before the lesson begins, so if you don't mind," "Oh sorry," you said as you saw the two boys sprint up the tower. You continued walking off to class alone thinking about how you could get two people who hate each other to become friends. (A/n: throw them into a RomCom duh!) You tried talking to Harry about giving Hermione a chance and helping you convince Ron to do the same, but it was very clear that for the rest of the day Harry could only think of the broom that lay beneath his bed, and the lesson he had that evening at eight.
