Harry started to become rather languid, and this did not slip you by. So being the awesome friend you are, you decided to interrogate him. During breakfast, you sat close to him and asked what was happening.

"Dumbledore warned me against going to see the mirror again," sighed Harry.

"And that explains your sluggishness how?" you pressed on.

"Well, I'm having nightmares, I can't quite let that mirror go... My parents keep disappearing in a flash of green light, F/n, and I don't know what to do, " he spilt, clearly trying not to let his eyes water. You brought him into a hug and once he felt better you pulled out the 'Ron and I told you so' card.

That afternoon the students who went home for the holidays returned. One of the returnees was a hopeful Hermione alas she did not remain so for long. As soon as she settled down, she was filled in on everything that happened. Her face contorted into a myriad of expressions faster than you ever thought possible; she quickly went from worried to angry when you told her about the Mirror of Erised episode, to disappointed and hopeless once hearing that you were unfruitful in your search for Flamel.

However, as soon as school began again, you spent hours in the library as you were certain that you had read his name somewhere before.

Unfortunately, in your search, you were one man short as Harry was constantly at quidditch practice and apparently Wood was pushing them harder than ever. One evening, Harry walked into the common room. He went next you, Ron and Hermione; it took only a glimpse of how bad Harry looked for Ron to stop his chess game which he was very concentrated on.

"Oh, man you look like a car wreck! What happened?" Ron said insensitively.

"Snape's going to referee, " Harry said with disdain.

"Pretend you're sick, " Hermione offered.

"That won't work," he replied glumly.

"Pretend to break your leg then!" she returned.

"Really break your leg" Ron added.

"As your dear friend I can give you a quick, clean break if you like..." you said with a scary smile.

"Uhh thanks but no, plus we can't play if that happens because we don't have another seeker on reserve," answered Harry in despair.

Before the conversation could continue Neville tumbled into the common room and landed face-first onto the floor. His legs were locked together with the Leg-Locker Curse, so it couldn't have been a smooth journey to the Gryffindor Tower. You couldn't help but giggle along with everyone, as you performed a countercurse. Hermione alone didn't laugh, but instead was angry at the injustice and led him to where you four were sitting.

"Who did this to you?" she asked Neville.

"Who do you think? Only Malfoy would do such a thing." Ron retorted.

"I was just leaving the library and Malfoy said he was looking for someone to practise a spell on," Neville said on the verge of tears.

"You have to report him and stand up for yourself," Harry said, "don't let him walk all over you like a carpet!"

"I'm not brave enough... I don't want trouble... Oh, why was I even put in Gryffindor!" Neville said in between sniffles.

"Yes, you are Neville! The Sorting Hat is never wrong, look you're in Gryffindor and where's Malfoy?! In stupid Slytherin!" said Harry who gave Neville the last one of his chocolate frogs, which Neville took gratefully.
