August 25 - August 26
The next morning, Daisy woke up to Fred and George's voices. They were talking about who knows what. They both told her to get ready quickly because they had to leave for the World Cup and they left the room. She got ready and found everyone at the door ready to leave.
Arthur called to her, "Come now Daisy, we need to meet Mr. Diggory and his son at the portkey."
Fred and George said in unison, "Diggory? Cedric Diggory?"
Arthur exclaimed, "Oi, yes! He's in you three's year, isn't that right?"
Fred and George looked at each other and groaned, "Yes"
Daisy knew why this was their reaction. Cedric Diggory has had a major crush on Daisy since second year. He never really made a move on her because Fred and George always scared him off, but everyone knew about his infatuation with Daisy.
As they walked Fred eyed Daisy, remembering the events of the night before, when he was on top of her...only to be interrupted by George.
The group then saw the Diggory men. Fred and George heard Hermione and Ginny giggle at the sight of Cedric, who had grown up quite a bit, and rolled their eyes at the two girls. At least Daisy was not doing that. She had never really paid much attention to Cedric, she knew of his crush, but quite honestly, did not really care. Although he is rather handsome now.
Mr. Diggory greeted Arthur and Cedric walked over to the twins and Daisy. "Long time, no see, guys. And Daisy! i had no idea you were coming! Great to see you!" He pulled her into a side hug and she smiled at him. Fred looked at George, but George just was paying no attention.
They went through the portkey and arrived at the Quidditch World Cup. The Weasley's, Harry, Hermione, and Daisy set up their tent and went inside.
Later that night they went to the match and sat with the Diggory men. Cedric had saved a seat beside him and called Daisy over to sit by him. Then Ginny sat on the other side of her followed by Hermione, Ron and Harry. Fred and George sat on the end.
Daisy sat by Cedric, but only so she would not be rude since he asked. She would much rather be sitting by Fred and George. Oh well, she has been spending every day with them, a little break won't hurt, she thinks to herself.
Cedric was quite the charmer though, funny and sweet. Fred noticed that he was making Daisy laugh a lot and whispered to George, "Why is she sitting over there with him. She's min-, our's i mean. "
George muttered, "Our what?"
Fred shook his head, "Our best friend of course. so she should be sitting with us."
George looked at him in confusion, but still focused on the game, "It doesn't really matter, Freddie. She looks like she's have a fine time with Cedric. You know, he has really grown up, quite handsome if i say so myself."
Fred glared at him, but said nothing. the game was almost over anyways.
Daisy noticed Fred looking at her. She still wonders what could have happened. She didn't have a crush on him, he's just her best friend... she longingly stared at him for a minute, but then their eyes met and she looked away, tuning back into whatever Cedric was saying.
The game ended with Ireland beating Bulgaria. Everyone headed back into their tents. Daisy sat with Fred and George in the tent. They were raving about the game to her, talking about how amazing it was.
All of a sudden they hear scream coming from outside. Daisy looks at Fred and George with concern.
Fred pokes her "Don't be a worrywart, I'm sure its just a party."
They all ran outside and saw chaos. Everyone had their wands drawn and there were death eaters everywhere.
Daisy was panicking, what were death eaters doing here? She stood there frozen. Arthur was yelling something at everyone to run, but all she heard were the screams. All of a sudden Fred is at her side grasping onto her arm dragging her away.
"Daisy, come with me and George." She looked at him for a second. "NOW" Fred yelled, at her and kept pulling her. They started sprinting away into the forest. George found Ginny and grabbed her, but Fred lost track of them, so it was just Daisy and Fred.
Fred pulled her behind a bush where he placed her sitting between his legs wrapped in his arms. He whispered into her ear, "hey, don't cry. its going to be ok. We're safe now." Daisy didn't even realize that there were tears streaming down her face, falling onto Fred's shoulder. Fred hated to see her cry, whenever she did, he would try to cheer her up immediately.
she stayed in his arms for a few minutes, until they heard Arthur yelling that it was all clear. They found everyone safe, they gathered there things quickly and made a swift return to the burrow.
That night, everyone was exhausted. Right as they got inside, everyone went straight to sleep.
