Falling for Fred Weasley

Chapter 9: Later that day

December 1st - After potions class. 

The rest of her classes went by  in a blur, her thoughts consumed by Fred, but he was still quiet.

It was almost night when Daisy heard the news. Fred had asked Angelina Johnson to the Yule Ball. Daisy couldn't believe it. 

She felt her heart fall into her stomach. Tears started to stream down her face. She couldnt stop crying. What was wrong with her. Why didn't Fred ask her? Why Angelina?

She started running back to her dorm when she heard two familiar voices in the common room it was Fred and George. she stopped outside of the door.

George sounded angry. Fred sounded...Sad? George said, "You asked Angelina? Is that who you even want to go with? Why are you so scared of your real feelings!?"

Fred answered, "I asked Angelina." and then went silent, because someone walked in. 

Daisy walked into the room, tears still on her face. She didn't need extendable ears to know Fred asked Angelina.  She made eye contact with Fred once, who had an extremely hurt look on his face. He can't stand to see Daisy like this. He was about to walk to her and hug her when george shook his head at him. 

Daisy went to her room, sat on her bed, and cried until dinner. 

She then got up, made herself look somewhat presentable then walked to the Great Hall alone. She did not sit at her normal sport between the twins, instead she sat at the other end of the table. 

She quickly ate a piece of cake and drank a cup of coffee then got up to leave. Passing the twins without even acknowledging them. But before she left the Great Hall she was approached by Cedric. 

"Hi Daisy! you look really pretty today. I was wondering if you would like to go to the Yule Ball with me?"

Well at least someone asked her, "Of course Cedric!" She made eye contact with Fred but looked away quickly. She hugged Cedric. 

He added, "Oh, also since I'm one of the Triwizard champion, we will have to dance in front of everyone. I hope thats ok with you?"

"Yes, i can't wait." She said with a smile, that was somewhat forced. 

Daisy walked back to her bedroom, sat on her bed, and cried again. Cedric was so nice to her. But why did Fred do that? she wish she didn't care, but she does. 

Later she went into the common room to grab an extra blanket, as she was in there she heard Fred walk in, with what looked like to be tears on his face? They both turned their teary faces around once they saw each other instantly.

Did she just see the boy who is always joking, always laughing, crying?

He's the one who decided to ask Anglina? Why is he crying?
