After I gathered my things and got prepared for a family gathering at my parent's home, I quickly stopped in to check on Luna.

It was early in the morning as she stood in front of her long mirror while trying to zip up a beautiful red dress she was wearing. She had her beautifully styled hair to the side and continued to look like she was having some trouble with the back. So being the gentleman I am, I walked up behind her, helping her with the zipper.

She turned her head to the side and gazed up at my eyes. My Lord, my body was frozen. It felt as though she sucked the life out of me. I wore a white coat that wrapped around my neck with my hair slick back. Her eyes darted above my forehead and down to my eyes, staring directly into my soul. The perfume she had on her skin was exhilarating; I just wanted to bury my nose in her neck and stay there for a long time.

"Thank you," she murmured, staring at me with those beautiful eyes of hers.

"My pleasure, gorgeous." I smiled back and pecked her cheek. I wanted to move over and truly feel her lips against mine, but I held back. For now. She made the first move the other day, but I should wait until I know she wanted something more.

"You look nice," she told me, and then gazed up and down on my attire.

"Thank you. I wanted to see you before I see my family."

"Oh. I'm glad you came by. I was thinking about you."

I glanced around and wondered where her daughter and Chase were. Surely she wasn't here alone. A beautiful woman like her shouldn't be alone. "Where are you off to?" I asked and then stepped back as she grabbed her small studded earrings from her vanity.

"A party. My friend, Walter, is getting married. So today is his engagement. Tomorrow is the wedding."

"Oh, okay. The guy with glasses from the club a few days ago?" He was about to get married and was all up on her body while they were dancing? I didn't want to sound like I was jealous. Well, maybe a little, but it was weird to see them dancing together like that.

She nodded as she met my gaze.

"Yeah. He's been dating his boyfriend for a while, so they decided to tie the knot." Now I'm not so jealous. He was gay. Whew.

"I see. I'm guessing it's a Christmas-theme party?" She laughed a little and pulled on her shoes.

"It is. Michael's family suggested it, since his parents were married in December."

"Who's Michael?" I asked, casually taking a seat on her bed and gaze at her like I was in the presence of a celebrity. Luna looked so beautiful.

"Oh, that's Walter's partner. Sorry. I forget that you don't know everyone."
