Less than an hour had passed since I parted ways with Luna inside the hospital. It was literally hell in there for her, and I barely ate the food I picked up from a local diner a block away. Faisal was lightly sleeping on the other bed as I tried to watch American television and even tried to take a small nap, but it was damn hard when I knew she was on heavy medication and locked away like some zoo animal.

I almost asked if I could stay overnight and work on her floor, so I could be close by, but I didn't want to cause alarm. We had to be careful. They had her put in that room for a reason, and I wanted to find out why. I didn't want her placed somewhere else in the hospital and be forced apart from her either.

It was painful enough as it is.

Dr. Kim may not give me that option of seeing her in another part of the building. Being away from her like this still didn't stop me from being worried about her. I will figure out a way to get her far away from there and go to Africa.

My mind was still blown away to learn that Luna and I could always touch each other. Why didn't I know this before? Why didn't I prevent this from happening to her sooner? I should have done something. I could have paid for some plane tickets for her and Sarah to come to Pakistan. They could've stayed in a fancy hotel back home, but I wasn't thinking about that. I almost flew out here in May, but Luna and Faisal both urged me to stop. So I did. If I would have known what Chase was going to do, he wouldn't see the kind and gentle Amir everyone else sees. He would see the terminator within who now had an eye out for him. His ass was grass.

I heard Faisal stir in his bed and yawn loudly. It was after ten at night here, and I was lying on my bed, deep in thought. "Hey," he murmured, rolling over to face me. "I guess you can't sleep."

I snapped Dr. Kim's laptop shut after gazing through all the notes he had on Cami and Luna. Geez, this doctor is a horrible person. A lunatic. He had Luna set up for an experimental drug that has been linked to severe paralysis. That will never happen; not on my watch.

"What's wrong?" Faisal asked, noticing the rage that was building up on my face. "Did the doctor write something?"

I slid off my bed and stood up, strolling towards the window. Then I couldn't help myself and ended up slamming my fist against the wall, causing the door to shake.

I was heated. I could wrap my hands around Chase's neck right now. But unfortunately, he wasn't in my orbit. He was the reason for all of this.

Faisal sat up and rushed towards me, tilting his head to the side. "Damn," he groaned as he lowered his head. "I take it the doctor must be up to something."
