recap: harry really did me dirty.. lmao! but on the bright side at least i can still go with my besties? but Payton and Brooklyn acting weird...
"hey Jackson, do you know what's that about? i feel left out." i say. "um your not the only one. they've been very secretive lately."
mhm. "really?" that's weird, we've all always been open with each other about anything and everything. but i'm not going to barge into their conversation.
it must be important for them to have to step away from us. "so have you picked out your dress for homecoming yet?" Jackson cut the silence.
"yeah actually, i know we all agree to go together, but i was bored out of my mind, so i did some searching online last night and found a couple options."
i told him. "we should surprise each other with our outfits." Jackson came up with a idea. "that's a great idea. we should." i agreed.
"sorry about that guys." Brooklyn and Payton came back to our table. "everything ok?" Jackson asked. "yeah, we're fine. nothing wrong." Brooklyn told us.
"ok, ice cream after school, on me?" i asked. "um, ill have to pass. i'm going to be pretty busy after school." Brooklyn denied my offer. "ok, that's fine. Payton?" i looked at Payton .
"i would love too, but i have to walk my dog." he exclaimed. what dog does he have?? he doesn't have one. "ok. Jackson ? let me guess your busy too?" i rolled my eyes.
"i'm not. i'll go with you." i smiled at him. "i'll catch you guys later." i got up and walked out of the cafeteria.
i don't know if i should confront them about being secretive or not. because it's really none of my business.
you know what i won't. i'll just let it go.

"so are you going the the homecoming game?" Jackson scooped some ice cream. "i don't know are you?" there was a homecoming game tomorrow after school?
everyone was going, but i never really liked football. but it always looks fun in movies so why not. "yes. and Brooklyn and Payton! you've gotta come."
he tried to convince me. "and Payton could possibly be playing!" he gave me a big smile. "uh yeah. now i'm going." i can't miss this. Payton's first football game.
and he's actually playing in it! i'm definitely going.

location: high school homecoming game!!
we all met up at the high school. everyone was already getting settled in and buying snacks waiting for the game to begin. "i'm going to go buy some pop." Payton said.
"i'll go too." i stood next to Payton. "ok then Jackson and i will get the seats. i'll text you guys!" she yelled before getting swept away in the big crowd.
i turned around and saw that Payton was still by and i hurried and got next to him before we lose each other. "so your playing today?" i asked him.
"maybe, i got the uniform in the car." he told me as we got to the line standing in it. "you should. if you want i mean it'll be you first time playing in a football game?"
"yeah." he said. i could tell he was blushing for what though? do i make him blush? "i'm sorry." i blurted out. "for what?" he chuckled.
"for trying to force you to play in the game." i added. "your not forcing me, i want to do this." he insured me. "ok, i'm sorry."
"Avani. your not doing anything wrong. so stop apologizing." he chuckled again and grabbed me pulling me into a hug and kissed my forehead twice 🥺and swaying us side to side. "what do you want to snack on?" Umm you... just kidding...😶
he said looking at the front of the booth we were in line at. "just some popcorn and a pop." i told him. "ok be right back." he walked to the front cutting in front of people.
people started getting aggravated and started to confront him. then he closed his eye and said something but i couldn't read his lips.
but when he opened them everything and everyone was froze. as if they couldn't move.. but i wasn't. "see what i did there?" he gave me a cheeky smile revealing his deep dimples.
"how- did you-?" i was confused. i touch a near by persons body and they didn't even flinch. i wonder what are they thinking. do they know that they're froze right now?
"your confused.. and you want to know how i did that." Payton jumped over the counter grabbing chips, pops, candy, and other things. he literally read my mind.
"how do you know? you can't read people's mind. can you?" i got weird. "no, but i hear you heart.. and it describes your feelings. a little help." i looked at the things that were filled up in his arms.
i grabbed a nearby ben and grabbed the things out his arms. "its a tricky spell. you just have to focus on your surroundings. and let it all in." he closed his eyes.
seconds later the people were unfrozen and everything went about it's day. "easy peasy." he winked at me taking the snacks.
