Teddy's POV:
Race and I walked in silence for the first few minutes. It was awkward. Like really awkward. Usually when we'd be making fun of each other it would be when we'd be passing by. I think this is the longest time we've ever been alone together.
Eventually Race broke the silence.
"Alright listen sweetheart, this is how its gonna go. For some reason I've been giving the responsibility of seeing yous be safe and all that crap. If I'm being honest, yous is old enough now to be selling by yourself. Yous a tough girl and frankly if I had to watch you all day you'd be slowing me down and I don't want that. I have places to be after work."
I just stood there kind of shocked. Race was letting me go on my own. I mean I'm happy because I'm getting some freedom but a bit offended.
"I would not slow you down!" I argue back. "However I'm not going debate this with you right now because I want to go on my own too."
"First of all yes, yes you would slow me down. It would take twice the time to sell the papes with you by my side. And second of all, just meet back here when yous have finished for the day so we can walk back together and make it look like we's were with each other the whole day, just so your brother doesn't kill me." He replies.
"Fine."
"Good."
We both start walking our separate ways but then an idea came to mind.
"Hey Sheepy!" I call back.
Races shoulders tense up before he turns around. "What?" He replies sharply.
"If you really think I'll slow you down why don't we make a little bet over this since you love gambling?" I say smugly. "Go on..." He replies. This boy can't refuse gambling if his life depended on it.
"Whoever sells all their papes first and makes it back to the meeting spot first wins. Then we'll see who'd really slow down who." I smirk.
Race grins. He spits in his hand and holds it out. I repeat the action and shake his hand. "You're going to lose princess." He smiles.
I roll my eyes. "We'll see about that little lamb." Race pulls his hand away sharply. "You know I hate that nickname the most."
"That's exactly why I used it." I smile and wink, turn on my heels and skip away leaving Race who was in a huff.
