Some days I am more wolf than woman, and I am still learning how to stop apologizing for my wild.

I hide in the bushes, watching and waiting for my time. I see the Fates bring out Liko. Their plan is that Avalon will see Liko and shut down.
They know she has a history of panic attacks and fainting, they hope that because of the traumatic experience she had with him will be enough to force her body to shut down. That way, they can easily win.
They knew to kill Jaycob. That was part of their plan. They did not, however, plan for Avalon to have the support of faerie knights, that complicates things.
I look towards Avalon and see fear clear in her eyes. I can see her hands shaking, her pupils dilating. Once upon a time I would have rushed over to her, helped her. I would have been her rock, her shoulder to cry on.
But that all changed when she left, and they found me.
I am waiting, waiting for the time that they find me. Waiting for when they tell me it is my time, that I have proven myself worthy. That's why I joined the fates.
They might not know it, but they are working for him. They might be key players now, but they get all their orders from him.
The may be 1 step ahead of everyone else, but he is 10 steps ahead of them.
Much to my disappointment, Avalon didn't shut down. In fact, she did the opposite. She ran to him and snapped his neck.
I don't even flinch anymore at the sound of bones breaking, the life drifting out of his eyes. He deserved it. He was going to die anyway.
This was where I would come in. If Liko failed, I would come out of the shadows and make my side known.
That would be sure to break Avalon.
The Fates open their mouths to introduce me. I stand up and ready myself. But before they can say anything, Avalon launches herself at them, cutting them off.
I freeze where I am standing, that's not supposed to happen. I am meant to be the big reveal. It is meant to be my time to shine. I am meant to be the breaking point. Not the boy in the shadows anymore.
I am about to stride out there and make myself known anyway, when a voice holds me back.
"Stop." it booms.
No one else seems to have heard it. I turn around and see him standing there.
He is about 8 foot tall, with long black flowy hair. He has striking red eyes that seem to glow. They are the only colour in his entirely black clothes. He is intimidating.
I smirk slightly, I would recognise him anywhere.
"My lord." I say and bow down slightly.
"Rise." his deep voice booms, "It is time."
"Time for what, my lord?" I ask.
"You have proven yourself worthy young soldier." he thunders.
I feel myself smiling. This is it. He is taking me. I have proven myself worthy for his cause. I will destroy all my enemies, and anyone that gets in my way.
I turn back to the field and see all the Fates on the floor with Avalon standing over them.
Then I turn back to him. There is no choice here. My life's work is coming to a close. All that I have achieved has not been in vain.
