It's been a few days since Mike had seen or spoken to El. His last encounter with her has stuck in his mind to this very minute. It might just be hanging out to anyone else, but it was the little things that stuck to him the most. The way her eyes widened at certain parts in the movie, or the small smile that creeped onto her face whenever something happened that she liked. Mike paid more attention to her than the actual movie.
Ever since then he's been replaying different moments in his head like his life depended on it.Today, Mike is left home alone for the majority of the day. His bruises have officially faded, the scrapes and deep cuts have either faded away or turned into scars that would haunt him and only remind him of times he would much rather forget. His side isn't completely healed, as it still hurts to apply pressure or lay on that side when he tries to go to sleep, but it's healing. Slowly, but it's getting there.
Lucas was a bit hesitant to leave Mike by himself today, although the didn't really know why. It's not like he was a little kid, but Lucas seemed to think otherwise. Lucas had a job interview today at some place Mike couldn't really care to remember and then he would be at the library to study with Max and Will. It was obvious Mike wasn't a fan of the two, so Lucas figured he'd let him be alone today.
Originally, Mike was planning to enjoy his time alone by spending it all on the couch in front of the TV eating all of the new bags of chips Lucas recently bought. Little did he know, his plans would surely be changed the moment he sat down.
Mike grabbed the colorful bags containing different flavors and brands of chips, stuffing as many bags in his arms as he could as he headed over to the couch. He really has been wanting one day to himself for a while now, and now that it's here, he hasn't felt better.
He's needed a day without Max and Will coming over and even though Mike loves Lucas, he needs some space just like everyone does. He needs the space to think things through and to find out what his first move will be without the constant static around him.
But of course, some things are too good to be true. As soon as the raven-head plops down on the couch comfortably and opens a bag of Doritos, there's a knock at the door. He instantly panics and nearly tosses the bag of chips across the room from the amount of suspense that has just been suppressed into him.
Mike can't help but wonder if Owens had just waited for the perfect moment to strike and capture Mike. When he was alone would be the best time to do it. What if it was one of his men disguised as the average joe, but as soon as he opened the door they would tranquilize him and take him back to that awful place?
He slowly creeped up to the door and peeped through the keyhole before instantly relaxing. It was just El- wait a minute, why was she here?
He opened the door and looked down at the petite brunette who stared up at him brightly. "Hey, Mike!" She chirped happily.
"Hey.. El. What are you doing here?" He didn't want to sound rude, or impose that he didn't want her here (he was more than happy she was here) but he was just curious.
"Oh, um well.. I was hoping to talk to you? If you weren't busy."
He stepped aside and motioned for her to step inside. "No, not at all. Did you come here by yourself?" He questioned as she took her coat and scarf off.
"No, my friend Mary was heading in this direction so I walked with her until I got here." El explained as she walked into the living room to see Mike's piles of chips on the coffee table. "I hope I wasn't interrupting anything.." She mumbled as she sat down on the couch.
Mike shrugged and grabbed the bags, swiftly putting them away. "Well I was going to be alone for most of the day, so I was just planning on sitting here. But I'd rather spend that time with you.. so, um, what did you want to talk about exactly?"
