The Last Shipgirls

Chapter 1

Somewhere in the Los Angeles suburbs:

Daniel and his two best friends, Fernie and Leo were watching some football at a restaurant when it switched to Breaking News. "Oh C'mon we were about to get a touchdown!" Someone complained.

When the News began to show images of destroyed ports worldwide, everyone grew silent. "How can that happen, if we've got the weapons to stop the Sirens?" Someone asked referring to what the News just explained about the attack as Daniel slammed his coke!

"Why would you call them weapons? They're also humans just like you and me!" He yelled grabbing the person on the shirt's collar.

"How would you know young man, cause you don't look military to me." The person said as Daniel readied a fist!

"When I was young, I never had a mother since she died, my dad took me to the San Pedro Base where he was in charge off and his secretary the USS Yorktown, became something like a mom to me!" He yelled before getting a call.

Daniel (Angry): What do you want?

Caller: That is no way to answer your old man.

Daniel: Sorry Dad, its just someone was insulting the ships at Base.

Dad: I'll let you off the hook next time but please get to safety cause there's a huge fleet of Siren ships heading our way.

Daniel: But what about Mama Yorktown?

Dad: I know but she insisted on buying you time to go farther inland to where the blast radius won't hit...."

Daniel dropped his phone at the sudden disconnection as Leo shook him. "Daniel what's wrong?"

"F fi final orders from m my dad is to go inland!" Daniel responded

"We're inland Daniel." Fernie mentions to his friend in shock.

"No deeper." Daniel responds as he hands Leo the keys with his shaking hands.

"Drive us as far as the tank will take us." Leo nodded as he took the keys and had Fernie guide Daniel before speeding onto an eastbound freeway.

A few hours later:

Daniel was scrolling his picture gallery as he looked at the ones with Yorktown when Leo looked at him. "Is everything alright?"

"Mama Yorktown should've been evacuated from the base along with a certain number of people at the Base." He replied as they stopped at a gas station.

"Look Fernie and I aren't sure if any of our families survived the attack but you need to keep you head in the game!" Leo exclaims as Fernie looked at him.

"I agree with Leo but it's going to be tough as the lines are jammed." Fernie explains as they got out of the car.

Daniel sighed before giving out a determined look. "Alright then, lets grab some supplies and one of you should fill up my car."

As they walked in, Daniel heard reports of what happened to his hometown and grabs a map and a set of markers while Fernie grabbed some food.

The cashier looks at Daniel when he went to pay. "Rough day?" She asks

"You could say that." He sighs.

"I know these days are rough after all with the Sirens bombarding coastal cities like San Pedro." She said as Daniel saw a list of Naval Casualties on a TV and got down to his knees before shedding more tears that before.

Fernie stopped what he was doing and sets the basket of food and water on the counter. "Daniel what's wrong?"

"It its been confirmed!" Daniel replied

Elsewhere:

Realizing, Enterprise was in a losing battle, she orders her fleet to retreat but Essex stopped to everyone's surprise.

"Essex we need to go home!" Enterprise orders the Carrier.

"I'm sorry Enterprise Senpai but you're the hope everyone needs and its best to keep you alive!" Essex yelled back

"This war's over! We're going and that's an mmmmph!" Enterprise tries to explain to her student when Belfast covered her mouth with a towel dipped in chloroform.

"Let's go and please make it back alive Ms. Essex for her sake." Belfast pleaded the CV-9 before carrying the unconscious Grey Ghost with the others.

"I will." Essex replies as she launches her planes up into the air.
