It took another three months for Nestor to open his envelope. He had stared at it every night but couldn't bring himself to remove the seal. He was in his old room at Miguel's. He had thrown himself back into working as security, distracting him from the crippling sense of loneliness his soul felt. He had been having dinner with the Galindo's when Cristobal had pointed behind Nestor. He turned around to see nothing and looking back at the boy he was still pointing and started to laugh. Clapping his hands, Cristobal babbled away. "Ibabella!"

His parents froze, stunned that the boy almost said a real word and more stunned that it sounded like Isabella. Again the boy was point, beside Nestor this time and laughing again. "Ibabella!" Pain wretched Nestors heart and he had to excuse himself. So there he found himself staring at the envelope. Taking a deep breath he tore through the paper and found a letter.

My dearest Ness,

Never ever forget how much I love you. I told you once that I wished I had never met you. I was so wrong. I wish I met you sooner, so we could have had more time. I spent the last 16 years so angry at the world, I never stopped to experience life fully, until I met you. My time with you has shown me that not all strength comes from within oneself. I found my biggest strength came from you and your support of me.

I read every book about love and could tell you every fact about it but until I watched you sitting in dirty, days old clothes, beside my hospital bed, I didn't know what it looked like. You showed me love and you showed me vulnerability. Two things I thought were weaknesses but were our strengths. I need you to stay strong for me once more.

It's going to be a while before I see you again but know that I will be waiting for you, even if it takes forever. Our souls are one and I have faith they will find each other in the next life. Know that I will be there watching you, juntos, por siempre en espíritu. Together, forever in spirit.

With all my heart, I am yours, in this life and the next.
Your Izzy.

There was a stack of papers underneath. Her final Will and Testament was amongst them. She had left it all to Nestor, he knew that from the conversations they'd had. He put it back in the drawer for another time. His focus was on the letter and the comfort that came with it every time he read her words. Folding the paper, he slid it into his breast pocket so it could sit beside the heart that belonged to her. Cristobal had been quiet since Nestor had left the room but shortly after he returned to the kitchen the boy started laughing again. "Ibabella!"

Nestor felt the weight of the paper in his pocket and smiled at the boy. "Yeah buddy, Aunt Izzy is here with us."
