In 1807, we were happy to hear the announcement of the abolishment of slavery in England. The slave trade act was now abolished.
Also the Americans were not also left out. The U.S passes out the legislative other and amendment of the constitution with regards to the abolishment of slavery trade and slave ownership, starting effect from 1808.
Also the Spanish government too passed and amended their constitution in the abolishment of slavery taking effect on 1811.
Can you imagine the joy and tearful joys on the faces of the black people. Now slavery has been abolished, no more slave ownership and the slave market.
For days we celebrated our joy with friends and families.On my part, I couldn't hold back the tears if joy in me. Our dancing went viral through out the country.
All slave owners who held back from giving their slaves freedom, had no choice than to release them.
The black club worked hard in trying to help the newly freed slaves. Getting a job for them and getting shelter over their heads.
No one feared what a friend or a family member might say if he or she had an interest in the other race. They all shared their love together without the fear of the other person.
The big issue was "no more slavery, no more slave trade" its abolished already.
But.....
There were those who never liked the idea of the liberation.
And....
Some who had remorse and regrets.
