Stepping on the shores of the Badagry was like a tap on back saying "welcome home son".

Remembering the words of Chief' Adebisi who said " you'll be returned back soon. Just to help join hands in building their cities that's all". But was it so ?. No!!
Look its been many many years since I left home. And I'm returning just now. What a pity it is.

On the sight of the village I said to myself "things have really changed". I now see block houses not thatched and mud. There was now change I said to myself.

Welcome Sirs. A young man said to me as walked towards us.
Don't call me Sir my boy. Call me brother. For once., I was born and raised here. But was later taken away by the hands of slavery. I said.
But I'm sorry Sir. You have a British tongue. The young man said.
Forget the tongue boy. Speaking in the Yoruba language saying " we're now home". The young man fell to his knees as he welcomed us and shouting to the top of his voice.     "Our long time brothers who were taken away from us due to slavery are here"

Everyone came out to welcome the multitude that had returned to their soil.

I couldn't hold back my tears when I arrived my paternal home. Hugging and embracing my cousin with joyful tears.

I really enjoyed the meal served to me. I said "it's been a while" the others all laughed and nodded their heads in agreement.

Who's she ?. A young girl said pointing at Marilyn.
You want to know my child. Yes' she said eagerly.
She's my loving wife. She was my masters daughter. We have three children together.

You could see the amusement on the faces of everyone.
How did you do it ?. Was what echoed everywhere.

I was taken to father's grave. On it was written "a fine and mighty man who died while fighting for the safety of the villagers". I was really proud of father.

I stayed back home for many months I decided staying back fully with my wife. Ajayi Crowter also stayed back home too.
Some years later he decided translating the English Bible into the Yoruba language for the sake of those who couldn't read and understand English to  read it and understand its meaning.

It really feels good to be back home. Isn't it ?.
