Chapter 1: Left behind

Ryan and Yaz are entering first, followed by Jack.

RYAN: Grandpa, I'm home, and guess who I found.

GRAHAM: What do you mean, who are you talking about?

Graham arrives and first sees Yaz.

GRAHAM: Oh, Yaz, what a good surprise, it's been a while since ... Well, whatever, what brings you here? How are-

He stops talking, seeing Jack entering.

GRAHAM: What is he doing here?!

He approaches and slaps Jack too.

GRAHAM: How dare you come here after what happened to the Doc? And after all this time without any news! You said you would be there when she'll need you!

RYAN: Grandpa please, calm down.

JACK: Wow, good right you all, you might have passed the word to each other, but if I could, I would really appreciate if you stop hitting me, please.

YAZ: You're right, you deserve a hundred times worse! You killed the Doc!

JACK: Hey calm down Yaz ... Sorry, Yasmin ... First of all, I didn't killed her. Secondly, I said you she might be still alive, and I think I've got a plan to find her.

GRAHAM: Wait, could anyone explain to me please. The Doc is still alive??

JACK: Maybe ... I really hope ... I know you think it's my fault and I really feel

guilty too, but all I did is asking for help, so yes it put her in danger, but it was the only way, the entire universe was at stake, if she hadn't done anything, the universe would have collapsed and you know that.

YAZ: Okay, you had your reasons but why now? Why the hell did you wait so long before telling us??

JACK: I ... I was ashamed ...

YAZ/RYAN/GRAHAM: ...

YAZ: If it can save her, I'm okay.

After a long silence, Ryan takes the floor.

RYAN: So what do we do now?

JACK: We travel back through time.

GRAHAM: When?

JACK: When do you think? We travel back through time to the moment you left her on Gallifrey, but we don't go to Gallifrey, she could kill us with the Cybermen and the Master. We're going to the place she parked her TARDIS, if she survived, it is very likely she came back there before going. From there, we'll hide, and maybe we will learn about what happened exactly.

YAZ: Okay, easy as pie.

JACK: But the only thing I didn't work out yet is: how could has she possibly escaped.

YAZ: Oh I know, of course, Ko Sharmus, he was one of the people who sent the Cyberium back through time.

JACK: Yeah, I know him, so what's about him?

YAZ: Well, I'm sorry but he's dead. The Doc found a TARDIS, she put us in it and she set the controls to bring us back on Earth, but he followed her when she left, we tried to stop him, but he wanted to make sure the Cybermen are gone once for all, so maybe he let the Doc enough time to runaway with another TARDIS.

JACK: Yeah, it sounds like him. Okay, so we'll be waiting for her at her TARDIS. But don't forget, you can't talk to her, We're going to cross your own timelines, so if we interact and save the Doc in your past, you would never have waited two years, so you would never have travelled back through time with me to save her and we create a paradox. Do you understand?

YAZ: Yeah, it means I can't talk to her...

JACK: I'm sorry Yaz, you better not do this. It could compromise your own future.

RYAN: So when are we going to the end of the universe?

JACK: Now if you don't mind.

YAZ: What are we waiting for, let's go!

While he's speaking, Jack keeps fiddling some sort of watch. The rest of the team wonder what it possibly can be, but before anyone ask to Jack, the latter starts to speak with severity.

JACK: All of you, hold on my wristwatch now! Prepare to the jump.

They just have the time to touch his strange strap and they all disappear in no time.
