Chapter 20: The big day

I wake up and I remember last night, everything was so perfect. I turn around and I see my love still asleep. I stare at her a long time before hearing her voice. She's still got her eyes closed.

DOC (smiling): How long have you been staring at me like this?

I smile and laugh before she talks again.

DOC: Don't you know seeing the bride before the wedding brings bad luck?

YAZ (giggling): Oh come on babe, I just couldn't leave you here! Ready for the big day?

DOC: Oh, I can't wait for it! I'm so excited!

YAZ: Me too babe! We'd better dress and prepare for the wedding, shouldn't we?

DOC: Yeah, you're right, it will be time soon.

We get up and we hear someone knocking to our door. I go and open the door and I see Jenny, Sonya and my mom running to me and cuddling me.

SONYA: Congratulations sis! You're getting married! I wish I had someone to marry to.

YAZ (mocking): You have! You still can marry your phone, best combination ever!

SONYA: Oh, shut up you!

YAZ: I love you too sis!

JACK (whispering): I'm so stressed, I will conduct a wedding ceremony today and I don't think I'm up to this ...

JENNY (laughing): You're talking to yourself out loud now? I think immortality doesn't suit you, you're getting a bit old ...

JACK: Oh, sorry Jenny, I didn't hear you coming.

JENNY: Are you sure you're alright?

JACK: Yeah, just a bit nervous ...

JENNY: Don't worry, you'll be wonderful.

Meanwhile, the guests are all gathered and ready for the wedding, the only missing are Yaz, the Doctor and Jack. Jenny arrives and goes towards Graham and Clara.

CLARA: Jenny, is everything alright? You seem a bit distraught.

GRAHAM: What is it? What's wrong with him?

JENNY: Well he said to me he was a bit nervous ...

CLARA: Well I assume it's quite understandable.

Graham was right, Jack arrives and smiles looking at Jenny before stepping onto the stage. Yaz approaches with her father at her side and behind her, the Doctor is walking alongside Wilfried. She addresses him as quietly as possible.
