"yeah, there aren't any living spaces here," I said,

"so nobody to help us if we find ourselves dead. Get out!" James quickly added. Everyone scrambled out and the car exploded behind us. Silena, however, wasn't so lucky, the fire burned a part of her hand. She immediately crumpled in pain. Everybody ran to her, but she waved with her good hand,

"I'm fine, we have to find Luke," She said, wincing in pain. Zoe didn't leave her side, but I and James and I stepped back two steps to allow her some space. She got up, covering her bad hand. Zoe tried to see, but she waved again. The wound must've been bad. She peeked to see the wound herself when Zoe turned around and her eyes widened.

"Change of plans," She said, everybody looked at her,

"who's the second oldest here?" She asked, James raised his hand,

"you're leading the others, and I'm resting, because I'll be useless in a fight.," She quickly explained, he nodded. Zoe started to prtest, but Silena shut her up,

"No talking" She said, clamping her good hand over Zoe's mouth, she kept arguing indistinctively. Then she said something that sounded like Leia and Silena's hand dropped. Zoe's eyes widened and she tried to apologise, but Silena just backed up,

"Go" She told us, "I obviously won't be useful anymore, Zoe has proved her point, so just go" She said. Zoe's eyes were brimmed with tears, but she still turned around and started walking. Silena stayed back, pulling a journal out of her pocket and reading its contents.

After we had crossed the street and I was sure Silena couldn't hear me, I asked,

"Who was Leia?" Zoe looked at me, she was crying for the second time today.

"She was Silena's best friend" She said,

"what do you mean by 'was'?" James asked, she looked at him,

"not all demigods can live to an old age like mom and dad, you know. Some die early. From monster attacks, or drowning" She said, her voice becoming deeper and graver at the last word.

"How was it Silena's fault then?" James asked her, I made vague hand gestures, warning him to shut up. But he waved me off. Zoe turned to look at us,

"She drowned when she was swimming with Silena in the canoe lake at camp" She said, her voice breaking with every word, "It wasn't Silena's fault, but s-she blames herself, she thinks that if she had done something different, Leia would be alive. She thinks that she should have drowned instead." Zoe threw her hands up in frustration. "She thinks that if she was dead, if she would have died instead of her, I would have more friends at Camp" She finished, pointing to herself. James and I were both confused. But Zoe explained further,

"The kids at Camp hate me" She said, looking at the ground, "Leia was like a best friend to all of them, and they think I 'murdered' her" She said, making air quotes with her fingers,

"I don't even listen to them, demigods die every year, so why would her death be my fault?" She said, but a tear fell on the ground.

"Hey" James said, "Why would your sister take it upon herself if you don't even listen to them?" He asked, I gave him universal gestures for cut it. Like my hand waving across my throat and my middle finger, but he kept fuelling the conversation.

" I don't know, but she thinks that she has to set an impression or something" Zoe said, "she thinks that she has to live up to mom and dad's expectation, they did so much and she's the underacheiver," She explained,

"What?" I asked, Silena was the best sibling anyone could ever ask for. She set out to find Luke even if she could die. She comforted Zoe even when she was just under that much stress. And lastly, Lily always spoke about Silena as if she were her sister. Which was a little rude to her brothers, but you get the point. I didn't know we had stopped moving until someone said,

"I knew a boy couldn't be in charge of anything" The voice said, I turned around and saw Silena standing there. "Good chat and all, but we need to find Luke" She said, pushing everybody forward with one hand, her other one was bandaged. Zoe tried to say something, but Silena shut her up,

"I DON'T want to hear it, Zoe" She said, "saying you didn't mean it won't bend the truth, you're not Hazel" She said, Zoe's eyes filled with tears a little more, but the water disappeared just as quick as it had appeared. Zoe put on a brave face and said,

"Okay, let's find Luke" She said. Silena sighed,

"I know you're taking it hard on yourself, but seriously, I'm fine" She told Zoe, Zoe obviously didn't believe her, but she nodded.

"Okay, let's find Luke" She said, everybody went inside, but Silena was at the front. Talking to Zoe.

"I think I'll join the hunt" She told her sister. Zoe stopped in her tracks, me and James who were following did too.

"What?" She asked her sister, "No, you are NOT joining the hunt!" She practically yelled, Silena looked down.

"Why not?" She asked Zoe, "it's the best option for me, besides aunt Thalia and Aunt Reyna will be there, and I can visit you whenever there's a break" She said. Zoe shook her head,

"But what about everybody at school? or camp? or everybody who likes you?" She asked her sister,

"I really don't think there are many people who care about me" She said, giving a fake smile, "look. How about we discuss this later? after we've found Luke?" She suggested. Zoe nodded miserably, but trudged forward.

After a while, gas swept into the room through the vents on the wall. I felt dizzy and my eyelids started drooping. I found myself falling asleep and falling on the floor.
