When Bakugo came to, Hali was still passed out on the ground. What...happened? His head still hurt, but it was clear now. He saw Hali and reached out to shake her shoulder. "Hey, wake up!"
She didn't stir. "Hali?" He pulled her to a sitting position, keeping one arm wrapped around her to keep her upright. "Hey, Pink Eyes, this isn't funny! Wake up!"
She slowly opened her eyes, but something was off. They were dark blue. "Uh, Hali, why are your eyes --!" He grabbed his head with his free hand. What's happening?!? Huh?
He heard a voice that sounded like Hali's in his mind. Enemies...must incapacitate...enemies!
He gritted his teeth and looked at Hali, who's gaze was empty. The pain in his head got worse the longer he touched her. "Hali, it's me! You know me! I'm not your enemy!" His vision was going black now. "Hali, quit it!"
She blinked and the pain in his head subsided. She looked over at him, confused as to why he was breathing so heavy. "What happened?" He gave her a weird look. "Is there something on my face?" She cocked her head at him. What does he mean 'what language is she speaking'?
"Hali, I can't understand you." He looked...concerned?
How about now? She tried speaking to him telepathically and a sharp jolt of pain went through her head.
He put a hand on her head. "Yeah, that came through loud and clear." She opened her mouth to say something, but he put a finger on her lips to stop her. "I think you should get some rest and see if it helps you reset." She nodded, blushing furiously.
She laid down and tried to go to sleep, but everything was in a jumble and she kept tossing and turning. After about ten minutes of this, Bakugo came back over to where she was. He sat down with his back against the wall and pulled her into his lap, making her rest her head against his shoulder. "I said get some rest, not roll all over the floor." She blushed but snuggled into his warmth and went to sleep.
Bakugo ended up falling asleep for about half an hour, but he was too riled up to stay asleep any longer. What is going on here? What did she mean there was someone else in my mind? How did that even happen? Did someone break into the school? I remember today, but it all feels like I was asleep and watching what was happening instead of doing it. Why the hell were her eyes blue and what was up with that weird voice that sounded like her? Did she get hurt in the blast earlier that she told me to do? Is that why she was on the floor when I came to? Come to think of it, where the hell are we and how did we get here?!? Did she say 'Teleport'? I thought her Quirk was Empathy, so how the hell did she--?
"Bakugo?" Her voice was quiet so he barely heard her. She reached up and tipped his head down so she could kiss him. He had not been expecting that.
He pulled back, not sure how to respond, especially since they'd only kissed that one time a few weeks ago. He locked eyes with hers and suddenly felt a weird aura coming from her. Her eyes looked like they were somehow turning purple.
He put a hand on her face to steady her. "Hey, what's wrong?"
"Nothing's wrong. Everything is perfect." She smiled at him, but something was still bothering him. Her eyes were dark, but she wasn't trying to impress any feeling onto him. Usually when her eyes were darker she was trying to calm people, but he didn't feel the warm waves she would normally be sending out.
She shifted slightly and nibbled on his ear, then started trailing kisses down from there to his jaw. "Hali, what're you--?" She kissed him so fiercely that he thought she was going to eat him alive. He stood up and went to splash water on his face. He was shaking and breathing heavily.
