A few days later, the teachers got permission from the principal to try to go to the beach one more time. Bakugo was reluctant to go, but he didn't want to miss out on a chance to show his classmates how superior to them he could be in a few of the sports that were on the agenda.
As he approached the bus warily with his hands stuffed in his pockets, Hali turned around and waved to him. "Bakugo, we're on this bus!" He corrected his path, but stopped in his tracks when he saw that Hali was once again not wearing the school swimsuit. He narrowed his eyes and stormed up to her.
She cocked her head at him. "Do you need something?"
He didn't say anything, but he pulled his shirt off and yanked it over her head before stomping onto the bus.
Yaoyorozu and Todoroki saw the whole thing. Hali looked perplexed as she turned around to face Yaoyorozu. "Do you think he has a thing against bikinis?"
Yaoyorozu laughed. "If he did that to everyone, then I would say yes, but he's never done that before and we've had other beach trips." She smirked at her friend. "I'd say he just doesn't want any other guys looking at your assets." She winked at her.
"My...what?!?" Hali flushed and instinctively covered her chest with her arms, then an irritated look crossed her face and she climbed up into the bus yelling, "Bakugo! Were you staring at my chest?!?"
Yaoyorozu heard Bakugo yell back, "If you don't want people to look at it then wear something else!"
Todoroki had overheard the girls' conversation. He looked back and forth from Yaoyorozu and other male students that were walking to their buses. He didn't like how they all seemed to be appraising her. He shot them a death stare and they scampered off.
Yaoyorozu blinked as a shirt was pulled over her head. Todoroki mumbled something that sounded like, "Bakugo has a point," and boarded the bus. Yaoyorozu blushed. Todoroki could be protective, but in the short time they'd been dating he'd never been so blatantly possessive.
Uraraka noticed all the changing dynamics around her. They had been subtle at first, but it was hard not to notice now. She sighed and climbed into the bus, choosing a window seat and staring gloomily out of it. I need to just tell him how I feel, but I'm too scared to. What if he doesn't like me any more than as a friend? I mean, he's friendly with everyone, so why would I be any different?
When Deku boarded the bus he noticed that Uraraka looked upset, but she also looked like she was thinking really hard about something. He started walking over to her, but was intercepted by Iida. "Midoriya! I need your assistance in going over the activity schedule!"
"Oh, okay." They strategized the whole bus ride, so Deku never got a chance to talk to Uraraka. She had fallen asleep during the drive, so Iida volunteered Deku to wake her. "Why me?"
"Simple! If she pulls any martial arts moves, you'll be fine!" He patted Deku on the shoulder and walked off the bus to start managing the chaos.
Deku walked over to Uraraka's seat. When he leaned down to tap her on the shoulder, he noticed that she was crying in her sleep. He sat down next to her. "Uraraka?" She stirred a little. "Hey, we're at the beach now."
She opened her eyes a little and yawned. "Oops, I guess I fell asleep."
He reached over and brushed a leftover tear from one of her eyes. He looked concerned. "Are you alright? You were crying in your sleep."
She blushed. "Oh, I have no idea why that happened. I can't remember what I was dreaming about. So, should we go have some fun?"
He hesitated for a moment, but then nodded. "Okay...I should probably go rein Iida in a bit."
