Time for a lil more angst my dudes, not gonna be as bad as before tho lol
🖤/☁️(3rd POV)
"For the last group we have Tsukishima, Yamaguchi, Kiyoko, and (M/N). Tsuki and (M/N) please see me after this. Don't forget the project is due tomorrow." The teacher announced. Tsukishima and (M/N) turned and looked at each other from the other side of the room, neither of them being thrilled to have the other in the group. Tsuki was really smart, he's even one of the top kids in the class. (M/N) on the other hand, didn't have good grades, he was probably even at the bottom of his class, and thought that Tsuki would ridicule him for it.
The class ended and everyone else packed up to leave while Tsuki and (M/N) walked to the teacher to talk with her.
"So I got an email from Yamaguchi yesterday saying that he was going to be out for a week since his grandma is sick, and Kiyoko emailed this morning saying that she had pneumonia and didn't know when she would be back. I know that everyone else has four mostly present people in their group, but you guys will have to work with just the two of you. Even though you're a group of two, unfortunately I won't be able to push back the day of the presentation because we have exams right after and I can't really reschedule them. Do you understand?" Both of the boys didn't like the situation, but they nodded anyway. They both left the classroom and talked to each other outside.
"I'll be honest, i'm not happy that your in my group," Tsuki said. (M/N) hated Tsuki's attitude, but he kept quiet.
"Okay. Do you want to work at my place? I live in an apartment with no roommates so we could work in peace." Tsuki said.
"Sure, what time should I come?"
"My last class ends at 5 so you can come anytime after."
"I'll be there at 6:30 then."
-time skip-
(M/N) arrived at Tsuki's place and knocked on the door. Honestly, he didn't want to be there, but he was glad that Tsuki was smart and could probably help him if he needed. Tsuki opened the door and motioned for him to come in. (M/N) walked in and took off his shoes and followed Tsuki to the living room. There was no TV or music playing, no machines running, nothing else making noise, it was silent except for the occasional shuffle of one of them moving. The atmosphere felt very tense. Eventually Tsuki decided to speak up.
"So...how do you want to split this up?" He asked.
"Umm...well I'm not really good with math and statistics and research stuff, but maybe you could get the info and then i'll put it together in a presentation?" (M/N) shyly suggested.
"So you want the easy part?" Tsuki glared. While Tsuki wasn't that much bigger than (M/N), he was still very intimidated by him at that moment.
"No no no, I didn't mean it like that! I know you're better at that sort of stuff s-so I was thinking it would be better for you to do it so we could get a better grade..." (M/N) explained nervously. Tsuki still held the glare.
"The math and research aren't even that hard, why do you want me to do all of it?"
"...Well, i'm really bad at it and if I did it you would probably have to correct it..."
"Are you that stupid?" Tsuki scoffed.
"What?..." (M/N) replied. He knew Tsukishima wasn't the nicest guy, but he didn't think he would say something like that.
"You heard me, I said are you that stupid? Or are you deaf too? I'm surprised you made it through high school like this, what did you do to get into college? Are you a spoiled rich kid who's mommy and daddy paid for you to get in even with shit grades?" Tsuki mocked. (M/N) looked down at the ground, cheeks and ears heating up with embarrassment. His parents, friends, and all of his math and science teachers have called him stupid, dumb, or even worse names. He was pretty good at English, but everyone would blow it off as easy because it was their first language. (M/N) was insecure about how smart he was, but he would never admit it out loud, he would just shrug it off and pretend it didn't bother him. He never thought a guy he barley even knew would call him stupid.
"I'm not stupid."
"Stop mumbling and speak up."
"I said i'm not stupid, asshole!!" (M/N) stood up and yelled. They were both silent for a bit. Tsuki stared at (M/N) in shock and a bit of fear, while (M/N) glared back at him. "You barley even know me and you're just like that gonna call me stupid? You think my parents love me enough to send me to a college for nothing?!" (M/N) could feel his eyes start to water, but he tried to keep himself from crying.
"Then what are you good at? Do have any skill for anything at all?" Tsuki prodded. He felt a little bad for making (M/N) upset, but he was genuinely curious about how a kid with such bad grades could get into a decent college.
"I-!..." (M/N) paused. He had a few things that he considered himself to be decently good at, but he started to second guess himself. He looked at the ground and stayed silent.
"So you really ARE here for nothing, huh?" Tsuki scoffed. (M/N) felt so angry and embarrassed. He wanted to prove to Tsuki that he wasn't as stupid as he thought he was. (M/N) started to grab all his stuff.
"Where are you going? We still have a project to finish!" Tsuki exclaimed.
"You don't need to worry about it." (M/N) snapped back. "I'll do the project myself, and i'll show you i'm not stupid!" He yelled and slammed the door. Tsuki stood in silence for a moment.
"Maybe I was a little too harsh."
