Scorpius

I swallowed the lump in my throat as Rose sat next to me on the couch, watching Al's demonstration of his invisibility cloak. She eventually gave in to coming along because she was probably worried about us.

Al wanted to make sure it was legitimate in case his dad pulled a trick on him when he showed him.

"You just wrap it around yourself or whatever you want to hide," Al said before wrapping himself up with the pure invisibility fabric. "And poof!"

I heard Al's voice and I didn't see Al. It was truly amazing.

"Mum said most invisibility cloaks wear off when I asked for one my last birthday," Rose stuck up her nose at Al's cloak.

I chuckled at her attidude. "Yeah, my mum said that too when my dad was talking about invisibilty cloaks the other night."

"Dad said mine is really old and the ones that wear off are ones that are new and then the spell just fades away," Al stated.

"Well, you shouldn't be toying with it," Rose began her freak out session. "What would McGonagall think if we have that in our possession? We could be accused of stealing things when things happen to go missing. We could be accused of scaring other kids. We could be –"

Rose looked really scared. She was looking out the window, I gave her befuddled look, there wasn't anything out of the window.

Rose cleared her throat before saying something that changed her rant completely. "I just saw a werewolf."

---

"Rose!" Al exclaimed. "Don't step on my foot."

"Al!" I complained. "Don't kick my shins!"

"Scor!" Rose whined. "Stop moving so much, it's so cramped in here you know!"

"Why are we doing this again?" Al sighed.

Al, Rose and I were all under Potter's invisibility cloak, scuttling into the forest, wands at the ready. Rose gave us an excuse to escape out of school grounds and investigate this before it gets worse. Rose was the best at casting spells so we had no need to worry, she was the ideal student after all.

"Don't you believe me, Al?" Rose whinged. "I saw it, I wouldn't be bloody terrified if I didn't."

"Why are you coming then?" I asked.

"Because you guys could get killed!" Rose continued.

"Or worse, expelled," Al said.

"HEY!" Rose yelled. "Don't mock my mum! She was actually scared of getting cut off from the magic world after she just got into it."

"Okay, okay," Al gave in. "It was a good comeback though."

"I have no idea what you guys are talking about," I happily chimed into their strange conversation. Third wheeling at its best.

"Scor, do you have any stories about your family?" Rose asked.

"Well, um," I chewed on my lip. "Not really."

Mum and Dad never told me anything, probably completely unlike their parents. My dad didn't exactly have anything to boast about.

"Between Rose and I," Al said. "We know your family is definitely not boring."

"Fine," I said. "Every time, Mum eats an apple, I hear Dad say cannibal."

"Is y-your mum an apple?" Rose stuttered, definitely creeped out by my story.

"No, she's a human," I stated firmly. "I have no idea why. He probably had a dark past with apples, like he does with chairs."

"Well then, that lightens up the mood," Al chuckled slightly. "Into the forest we go."
