A/N You may end up really confused by the end of this, but I'll explain my thought process at the end. Anyways I'm doing a fantasy au here, so hooray.

Shuichi said, laying his head down on his table and staring out the window. There wasn't much he could do, it was rather boring being a prince at the moment. There wasn't anything going on, and he couldn't really do much. Unlike most other noble families, his parents didn't really care about marriages and such. There wasn't really a point in it, so Shuichi really had the power to do whatever he wanted. But the thing is, he's never really gone outside and met anyone. This was because he was far too nervous of getting taking advantage of, simply because of his rank in the social hierarchy.

His parents were a rather worried, wondering what to do. They've encouraged him to go outside, but Shuichi wasn't confident enough to go out there himself. He wished that he could just meet someone at home, but that's nearly impossible. It's not like anyone can just walk in here... it'd have to be some other noble. And frankly, I don't like those people. He sighed again, closing his eyes. So stuck up....

He decided to stand up, wanting to actually get ready in case something happened. Shuichi got ready rather quickly, deciding to head out of his room. He glanced around the hallways, wondering what to do. He wasn't feeling all too hungry, so he decided to just go out to the garden.

It was probably his favorite place, with bright colors that contrasted against the gray stones most of this place was built with. He just liked it, since it was different compared to a lot of things that he could do around here. Shuichi walked around, realizing just how early it was at the moment. Not very many people were in the hallways, and those who were appeared rather tired. Funny, how I'm wide awake. He pushed the door to outside open, walking out as the chilly morning air hit him in the face. At least the sun's out... it'll get a bit warmer soon.

Shuichi walked around the large patches of colorful flowers, observing the shape of all the petals. Some were more triangle shaped, others were similar to squares, while some were the shape of small circles.

In one of the patches, he spotted a small butterfly. He crouched down, staring at it for a moment. It was a purple color, which made him a bit curious. I haven't seen a purple butterfly before.... He thought wistfully. He leaned forwards slightly, looking a bit closer. Shuichi expected the butterfly to fly away at his movement, but it instead landed on his face. He sneezed, getting tickled by the insect.

"Nishishi, that's fun!"

Shuichi fell back immediately, surprised by the new voice. The butterfly flew up away from him. "Why'd you have that reaction? There's no one here."

Shuichi hesitated, sitting up quickly. "Who's saying that?" He spoke aloud. "Are you the butterfly?"

"Oh!" The voice went again. "Wait, can you actually hear me?"

"I think so?"

There was silence for a second. "Holy shit okay then." The butterfly flew back down, hovering in front of his face. "'Kay, so, can you put your hands out? I wanna land."

"O-Oh! Okay." Shuichi stuck his hands forwards, the butterfly landing down. "S-So, I'm feeling a bit nervous right now? D-Do you have a name?"

"I do!" They replied. "But the issue is, I can't tell you! If I do, I'll be cursed forever!"

"Cursed?!"

"Yeah, I'm actually a normal person!" The butterfly continued. "The reason why I got cursed was because I killed fifty-seven people!"

Shuichi flinched. "You did what?"

"Because of that, some people got really scared of me, so they called in a witch to get rid of me! And she ended up turning me into a butterfly as a punishment." They sighed, seeming a bit mad. "C'mon! I just wanted to mess around a bit more! Now I have to flit around and be annoying in order to have any fun!" They was a small laughter. "Or is that just a lie? Maybe there's some other reason as to why I'm a butterfly now! Or maybe you're just insane, I don't know."
