Sanyukta's phone rang, displaying Randhir calling her.
"Hello", she said in a low voice, concentrating on her book.
"Hi! Is everything okay? Why are you speaking like this?" he voiced his concern.
"Nothing like that. Just preparing for the coming exams," she said, still writing something on the paper.
And he remembered her exams are starting after two days, and it was normal she was busy.
"Okay then continue. Because I know you will not listen to whatever I say," he said while trying to decide what to wear for his friend's reception.
"Hmm... Bye! Will take you later and...... ask, for what you have called," she reminded him the reason to call her.
His hand immediately went back of his head as he smiled sheepishly remembering for what he called her "Yeah! Tell me whether I should wear Navy blue or Black tuxedo"
"Navy Blue with white shirt", she said smiling.
"Okay done. Bye!" he cut the call as he took the navy blue tuxedo to wear.
After a few minutes, he was standing with his parents waiting for his brother to come down.
"Parth, you are coming down in next five minutes otherwise......." Randhir didn't complete as Parth came down.
"Bro, you have bhabhi to decide your clothes but I don't have anyone so it takes time to decide", Parth said only to find his brother glaring at him.
"Ma, I think we are getting late. Let's go!" Parth said as he ran behind his mother who laughed at the brothers bickering.

MALHOTRA MANSION
It was the reception of Soham Malhotra, Randhir's friend. Randhir met him and then went to his friends who were seated at the bar.
"Hey buddy!" one of his friends said hugging him. It's been years since he has met them. He sat there talking to his college buddies. After talking for some time all of them went to their partners while he sat there looking at his friends as he orders a drink.
"I never knew you were alcoholic" her voice startled him.
"No, I don't, and hello to you too," he said as he saw her smiling while she sat there.
"Hi! My choice looks good on you".
"Thanks for the compliment and you look beautiful yourself", he complimented her as a hue spread across her cheeks.
"Thanks", she said shyly.
It's been two weeks since she said yes to give them a chance and a month and a half since they got engaged. They talk daily over phones and know a few things about each other. In college, they have not told about their relationship so a few smiles are exchanged in class or corridors. Sanyukta likes how he remembers everything she tells him. She is thoughtful but when he is around she usually forgets everything. It was clear they liked each other's company but it was still difficult to put the feelings in words.
"Your orange juice", he passed her the glass.
"So.......how do you know Malhotra Uncle", she asked as she took the glass.
"Soham is my college friend", he answered as his gaze was fixed on her.
"Ok"
"How do you know them?" he asked as he thought for reasons of her being here.
"Sujata aunty and Mumma are childhood friends. So, I have known Soham bhaiya all my life", she said as she adored the couple standing on the stage.
"Hmmm"
They started talking when he remembered she has her exams coming and she is sitting here.
"You have your exams in two days, so why are you here?" he questioned her.
"Will go in an hour, Sir," she replied as she tried to decipher the unknown emotion on his face.
"RD let's go!" one of his friends called him.
"Go, your friends are calling you", she asked him to go as she thought to join her mother and mother-in-law.
"Yeah!"
..........................................................
"How was your exam?" Shanaya asked as she continued to look at her question paper.
"Good" Sanyukta answered as they went to canteen.
"Of course, you are the topper and I am damn sure it will be you again this time", Mishti praised her friend.
"It's not necessary and also let's stop talking about exams. They are over now and I would love to eat peacefully now", Sanyukta said as they took their usual seats.
"What you want to eat?" she asked her friends who seemed to be worried about their results just after half an hour after attempting them.
"Usual", Shanaya and Misthi said together while Sanyukta went to order it for them.
She was in the food queue when her phone buzzed with a message from Randhir.
"Hey! How was the exam?"
"Good" she answered while keeping the phone back when he messaged again.
"Don't go home with your friends. Wait for me in parking"
"Okay! but don't you think it will attract unwanted attention to us" she messaged and put back her phone as she took the food to their table while her phone kept ringing.
"Take these. I'll be back in a minute" she said while taking her phone out.
"Hello!" she answered.
"Sanyukta, you really think of keeping us as a secret" he asked directly because he was confused with her behaviour. They were already engaged and were getting married in a month or two and she did not seem to be comfortable with the whole idea.
"I never said that it's just that.......you are my professor and also.....I kind of not told my friends about us" she tried to reason but she also knew it was of no use.
"Really Sanyukta. You haven't told your friends about our engagement" he asked not understanding her behaviour when it is her who is more sorted than him.
"They know about engagement. They just don't know who my fiance is" she told as she closed her eyes to listen only to hear him laugh.
"Sanyukta, you are a child. Let's tell them together" he suggested.
"Okay!"
"But still you are going with me" he said as he ended the call.
"Okay" she could only smile as she went to her friends.
"So, when are we meeting your mysterious fiance" Shanaya asked as they went out eating food.
"Soon" she gave the only answer she knew.
