"Sanyu, where are we going?" her friends asked for the umpteenth time.
"I told you guys, Vid will join our college. So we are going shopping", Sanyukta said excitedly while her friends could not believe the reason.
"Sanyukta, let's stop joking. All of us know, you are not a big fan of shopping. We always have to drag you and today you are way too excited for it", Mishti reasoned.
"I know that but people change", Sanyukta tried to convince her friends while Vidushi was herself amused to see her sister this excited for her shopping. Her sister, whose engagement dress was bought by her mother.
"Fine", her friends agreed.
..........................................
"Bhabhi", Parth called as they came out of the shop almost completing their shopping.
"Oh Hi, Parth"
"Guys, meet Parth" she made her friends meet him while his eyes were only on Vidushi whose situation was not different.
"Parth! Parth!" she almost shouted to get his attention.
"Yes!......Yes, Bhabhi, you were saying something", he smiled awkwardly.
"Your brother is also here?", she asked looking for him, who was the only reason she came here with her friends.
"Yeah, he was here a while ago", he said as he tried to locate his brother who seemed to be a little busy past few days "Oh, there he is," he said as he located his brother talking to someone.
Shanaya and Mishti who were already amazed at the fact that Sanyu asked them to go for shopping were now confused meeting her brother-in-law and fiance who was talking to Professor Shekhawat.
Sanyukta with her friends started walking while Parth and Vidushi were lost in their own world. They had met a few times after engagement which slowly blossomed their love.
"Hello", Sanyukta greeted Randhir as he was still busy with the man earlier.
"Hi", he said as he side hugged her completely shocking her friends. Their mouth hung open as he further greeted them smiling. It was extraordinary for them to have their professor greeting them smilingly and hugging their friend.
"Girls, close your mouths", she said while nudging their arms.
Sanyukta's nudging brought them back from their thoughts and they greeted him back.
"Hello, Sir", they said together.
"Should we go at the cafeteria to eat?" he said while bringing them back from their trance.
All of them seated while Shanaya and Mishti were still confused. They never knew Sanyukta was this close with Professor Shekhawat and most important how does she know him.
"Sanyu, weren't we supposed to meet your Fiance? What are we doing with Professor Shekhawat?" they whispered while smiling awkwardly to Randhir.
"Umm...Girls, meet Randhir Singh Shekhawat my fiance" she said as she took his hand in hers.
"Sanyu, it's not April Fool Day. So, stop joking" Shanaya said as she processed the information given by her friend just a second ago.
"Miss Sengupta, she is not joking. We really are engaged", he said as he showed their hands with matching rings.
They just looked at their friend who was engaged for two months but never told them about her fiance and when they come to know it is their Professor. Both of them seemed to be comfortable with each other. They were not angry with her just sad that she never thought to share this important detail of her life.
"Sir, will you mind if we take her for a few minutes," both Shanaya and Mishti said together as they took her hand and almost ran.
"Is everything alright? What happened suddenly? Are you both okay?" Sanyukta kept questioning as her friends literally dragged her to the restroom.
They checked all the stalls and finding them empty locked the door and squealed in happiness while hugging her.
"We are so happy for you," they said together still in a hug.
"But what was there to keep it a secret you could have at least told us" Shanaya questioned.
"Well, it was never supposed to be a secret. But circumstances never allowed me to tell you" she tried to put her point.
"It's okay. We are just happy for you. But girl you dated him and then got engaged and we never got a clue about it. You both are really smart" Misthi said.
"Well,.....we never dated. Ours is an arranged one" she cleared her friend's doubt.
"It does not look like it," Shanaya said suspiciously.
"Actually, my parent's really liked him and arranged our engagement while it all happened against my will then he said he wants us to have a chance. I took my time and realised my marriage will happen whether with my will or against it. So, I also tried to give this relation a chance. It's been a month since we are going out and I kind of like him" Sanyukta said with a hue in her cheeks.
"Girl! you don't just like him. You are already in love with him" Mishti cleared her confusion looking at their shy friend.
Before Sanyukta could answer Vidhushi knocked the door "Sanyu, come fast. Jiju is getting worried"
"Yeah we are coming," she said while opening the door.
"So everything okay?" Vidushi asked eyeing her sister and her friends.
"Everything is good", Sanyukta took her hand to go out while Shanaya and Mishti followed them.
"You tell me, sister. Is everything okay with you?" Sanyukta tried to ask her sister about their earlier encounter with Parth.
"Ya, what will happen to me?" Vidhushi replied as she tried to walk faster to avoid talking to him.
"Nothing! What will happen to you? It's just that you seemed a little lost today"
"Sanyu, I am perfectly alright! It's not me it's you who has become more talkative these days" she teased her sister.
"Effect of the Company" Sanyukta quoted as they sat to eat their food.
Shanaya and Mishti also talked a little to Randhir but were mostly busy with their food avoiding to talk to him. It was difficult to digest the fact that their friend is marrying their professor.
They ate food and went on their ways while Randhir messaged her to call when they reach home.
Sanyukta smiled and sighed as finally, she has told her friends and now the burden is off her shoulder.
