"Hey, you know Vandy again went to Sir's office and was out the next second. Why can't she understand that Sir is not interested in her?" Mishti told the gossip which was now breaking news in college. It was entertaining for some while a disappointment for others. Whereas one particular girl was ready to yell at their professor to give him some peace of mind.
                    .........................

"Why can't we announce our engagement in college? If you don't want to tell who you are engaged to, at least tell that you are engaged and will get married soon. So these stupid girls can stop hitting on you."
"Hello, to you too Sanyukta. Please sit" Randhir said as he went near her.
"Hi," she said regretting her behaviour.
"What happened suddenly, that you want us or specifically me to announce our or should I say mine engagement?" He asked as he stood near the table trying to calm her.
"Have you seen yourself? Girls keep hitting on you and when you wear this black shirt you look more handsome." she closed her mouth as soon as she finished the sentence.
"Thanks, for the compliment," he said smirking, "and one more thing I don't know if girls hit on me or not but one thing that I know is......... I hit on a girl but she never responds me back"
"Oh My God! Professor Shekhawat you are going to marry me and you like someone else," she said as her lips formed the pout which he always had a desire to kiss senselessly. How much he adores her, he could not tell that?
He continued to enjoy her confusion as she named almost every girl of the college to know who is his secret crush.
"Well, she has worn this beautiful blue kurta today which is my favourite colour and I just can't stop myself from admiring her beauty. She is like an angel who just came from hea...." she stopped him in middle irritated with the continuous blabber of his so-called crush.
"Okay, fine I understood how you like her. I am going to find her and then kill her...." she said the last words to herself but were heard by him.
"Sanyukta, when you find her give her this" he handed her a box and went back to his seat.
She made faces but went in search of her Professor's crush.

"Hey, Sanyu! Everything alright! Why do you look so sad and confused?" Mishti asked with concern.
"I am worried. My fiance likes someone else and here I am searching that girl to give her this," she said as she handed Mishti the box.
Mishti opened it and found a pretty necklace with few words craved on its back.
"Awww....so cute!"
"Seriously, Mishti you are my friend and you're praising this stupid necklace of that stupid girl", Sanyukta's blood boiled as her friend praised that stupid necklace. Her fiance, her would-be husband has a crush on someone else and she being stupid is searching for that girl.
Sanyukta started crying. She is a brave girl but she couldn't stop herself now. After a few minutes, they went to their class but forgot the necklace in the corridor. The period was about to end when a girl in blue Kurti came in class and asked Sanyukta to come with her. Her mind had already stopped working and as every second passed her heartbeats increased as if she can feel something bad will happen but keeping her feelings aside she followed the girl quietly. When they entered in Randhir's office, he sat there with a look to kill someone. The girl went away and left them alone.
"So did you find her ?" he whispered as he came closer to her.
The tears which were already on the verge came but controlling her tears between her sniffs she said, "No and why should I? I am your fiancee whom you promised to love and now you found someone else. I never thought you will be like this, Randhir.............. When we started this journey you were just some random guy with whom my parents were adamant to get me married but now I can't imagine a day without you. I like you Randhir........ and I am sure someday I will fall in love with you."
Randhir hugged her tight and kissed on her cheek making her smile in between her tears "I like you too, my sherni", he took out the necklace which Sanyukta left in the corridor after her crying session and made her wear and promised, "Sanyukta it has always been you and I promise it will always be you. You are the one for me, whenever I am teaching your class I can't take my eyes off you. You are the girl for whom I have fallen head over heels but it is not a competition so you move with your own pace, I will wait for you." Sanyukta smiled through her tears and happily hugged him back. He was her professor and she liked him. Her world now revolves around him and she wished they stay happy like this always.
