Summary:
Only a few days after Lupin, the gentleman thief  that rescued not only you, but your younger sister, Clarisse from Count Cagliostro, you think about him once more, and all he has said and done for the two of you.
______________

You sat in a comfortable silence on the green field. The soft grass beneath your hands as you looked onwards. You couldn't help the small smile that tugged on your lips as you looked. How you longed for this. You and Clarisse.
"Y/n?" Ah, there she was. You turned your head to see your beloved younger sister. She stood above you, so you smiled wider at her and patted the space next to you. She smiled as well and took a seat on the grass. "You looked so deep in thought, is something wrong?" She asked.
"No," you shook your head "Nothings wrong at all, Clarisse. I'm just thinking is all."
"Are you thinking of Lupin?" She asked. Your cheeks tinted pink and you nodded your head.
"How can I not?" You sighed "He saved me, he saved...Us." You then recalled a certain memory that I'm sure you sister shared as well.

You and your sister had shared a room, when younger, and even now. Although neither of you wanted to be locked up in this horrid tower. You saw Clarisse staring out the window, so you sat in the chair across from her and joined her gazing. Not much else to do anyways. The clouds covered the moon slowly, making the room just a bit darker. Clarisse sighed as this happened and lowered her head.
Then, a soft breeze filled the room along with a howl from the wind. The two of you looked at each other, then looked up to see the window at the top of the tower had been opened. Directly underneath it seemed to be a mans silhouette. You and your sister got up from the chairs, and you shuffled a bit so that you were in front of Clarisse.
"Who are you?" You had asked, reaching for Clarisse's hand behind you, giving it a soft squeeze in case she was afraid.
"I am a thief," he started walking towards the two of you. His footsteps echoing in the quiet room.
"A thief, sir?" Clarisse asked. Always so formal, you thought to yourself. The clouds had parted, resulting in the moons light shining inside of the room once more. The man stepped into said moonlight and smiled at the two of you, his hands at his side.
"Good evening, Miss Princess," he looked at Clarisse. Then he turned his head to you "and good evening to you too, Miss bride." He greeted. Suddenly, you had recognized his face.
"You," you started "You're the man from earlier, the one on the highway that helped us, right?" Ah So he's back. Part of you was glad for this, but the other half of you was confused.
When you and your sister came back, The Count told the two of you he was to marry one of you. Seeing as how Clarisse was only 18, you decided to marry him, even if you didn't want to. But Clarisse was too young to be wed. During the dress fitting you had tried to escape, Clarisse helping. She drove the stolen car as you watched next to her.
The counts men followed, persistent to get you two returned. They rammed into the car, making it impossible for Clarisse to drive, until two men showed up and helped. Clarisse had fainted, so you screamed for help. Luckily the man in the green suit aided you two. One thing led to another and the three of you slid down a cliff, he was passed out. Clarisse tried to wake him, but the two of you ran before he woke.
And now, you were reunited.
He nodded his head and grabbed your hand gently "I think this belongs to you." He slid the ring on your finger and you looked at him in shock, then back at the ring, Clarisse stepping from behind you to gaze as well.
"You couldn't have come all this way to return the ring," you said "It's too dangerous with the Count around to do so!" He simply smiled at you once more.
"Danger is my middle name, it's what I live for." He said with a confident smile. "I'll leave once the job is done."
"The job?" Clarisse asked. You sighed and looked down at your hand
"We don't have anything to give you, all we have is this ring-" You started to slide it off your finger until the man stopped you by holding your hand. You looked up at him with shock as he shook his head.
"My reward won't be something like money or jewels," he said. He then did a bow of some sorts and said "Please, allow yourselves to be stolen away by this thief." He said it to the both of you, but looked at you in your eyes.

"He was a gentleman, wasn't he?" Clarisse asked. You nodded with a smile. It was on this very field that you said your goodbyes to him as well. Part of you dreaded this memory, having to say goodbye after growing so attached to him. But he was a thief, and you were a princess. You hugged him one last time, tightly. He kissed you on the forehead, then waved as he drove off with his crew. He was truly, a gentleman.
"The best gentleman." You said. You looked at Clarisse and hugged her. "We're free now, Clarisse" Clarisse hugged you back and smiled. Neither of you had to worry about the count anymore, being locked away inside of a tower, none of that anymore for the rest of your lives. And it was all thanks to Lupin the Third.
Karl barked as he ran over to the two of you, licking your faces as his tail wagged. The two of you laughed as you pet your beloved dog.
This beautiful freedom.
All thanks to him.
